So, about once a week since before the 2020 election, I've been passing this sign that some Democrat nailed to a tree in his yard. It said something to the effect that Biden was going to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr and wasn't this a wonderful thing! So many people would benefit!
I just drove past this guy's house yesterday.
The sign is gone. 😂🤣😂
Given that gas is, on average, around $5.00/gal and that about a third of your paycheck goes to taxes, etc., a person would have to work 8 hours to buy 16 gallons of gas -- just enough to fill your gas tank one time. Now add in rising housing costs, rising food prices, rising utility costs, etc., etc.
The minimum wage worker was far better off under Trump, than he is with Joe's "wonderful" wage increase.
I think our Democrat friend has finally figured this out.
When the government says they wanna raise the minimum wage, it's because the cost of everything else is about to skyrocket
It's also because the government plans on creating a job environment where you can't get promoted past minimum wage.
Yes that too. Keep everyone poor and stressed out about making ends meet so we're too busy to see their shady BS going on everywhere
That's it. That's what the minimum wage advocates don't get. That minimum wage is the most they want you to make. They will do everything they can to keep you from earning much more than the minimum wage.
It's usually years after it sky rockets and we all go broke.
it's nearly $7 in Bay Area California now it seems like every day it jumps 10 cents.
$4.79 in Iowa right now. About to raise again before the end of the week I heard. Jumped roughly 35 cents last week
He should replace it with an "I'm STUPID" sign.
It conveys the same message.
Who gets the first 35 cents of every dollar when the minimum wage is raised? Yeah, now you see why they love it. Back door into the corporate pocket book.
Another one bites the dust and another one ~
LOL!
Oh yes, 15 /hr is soooo great. I just love working 60 hours a week just to pay for the bare necessities. 🙄
And still, the cognitive dissonance is strong with lefties
There'll be a fight for $30/hr sign up tomorrow
Dems are good at moving goalposts.
Gas Prices are so deceptive because they're always in your face, I drive way more than anyone, 100 miles a day to commute for work - 50 miles each way. My car gets 33 mpg. So, typically I will spend $68 bucks per week which is 17 gallons - that's at $4 a gallon.
When gas around me hit $4.50, which is what just paid this morning, my gas bill was $76.50 to fill up.
Eight dollars, that's all it cost. If gas hits six bucks, that will be an extra $20 per week. I drive WAY more than anyone else - 500 miles per week. I hear about all these people talking about not being able to afford to go to work ...
That’s all… just $20 a week more. No big deal right? Wrong. That adds up to $80 a month. $960 a year. That’s just with one price increase. It’s now at least $2.50 more than when Trump left office. So let’s see that’s over $2000 a year difference. Not to mention the prices of groceries have gone up along with everything else. I’m glad YOUR ok but there are people out there who are NOT ok. I’m from Florida. There’s a bunch of retirees on fixed incomes here. They are struggling. So handshake please try to think of more people than yourself and see the bigger picture. Don’t try to normalize this shit show and try to make everyone think it’s ok. It’s not ok. Never will be either as long as the libs are in control
I think you might have misread his sentence.
Clearly though all these corporations are in on it together (Vanguard/Blackrock), since in a competitive free market, all the companies that are selling products that would be considered non-necessities - and it’s a big market - would realize that people pouring more and more money into food, gas, rent, and other bills will only reduce the amount of money people are spending on their products. They would be pulling strings and lobbying government to protect their businesses, but they aren’t.
Wow, dude are you ok? You sound legit unhinged.
If you can't budget for $1000 a year extra, maybe you need to double down and look at how you spend money.
My response was to people saying they can't get to work because gas is too much. I own a business with over 300 employees. I've heard many tell me they can't work from the office because of gas prices and they have a 20 mile commute. I sit with them and do the math, and it always turns out to be an extra $10 or $20 a month tops because they don't drive very far.
If you can't swing an extra $20, you need to budget better.
Yes, food has gone up too, that's one reason I gave everyone in my company a 7% raise to match inflation. I've sat with many employees and looked at their spend. It's always the same story, they say OMG I'm spending $200 a week on groceries, well what were you spending before? Oh, $180 a week, ok, that's $20 extra, where can you get that money?
Stuff gets more expensive with time, this isn't a political issue. 20 years ago I spent 80 a week on groceries, now I spend double that easily, it's basic inflation and not something that whining about will fix, but it will get fixed with some fiscal conservatisim.
Are you conservative or a liberal with this kind of whining? What do you want, a government bailout for your gas tank?
First of all I’m not a ‘dude’. You generously gave your 300 employees a 7% raise. Way to go Scrooge. Biden says it’s 8% and in reality it’s more like 15%. If you even have a company handshake. I wasn’t talking about people working I’m talking about people who are retired and in fixed incomes. You are unable to understand that people are having problems. I’ve read your short history here and it seems you’re just trying to cause trouble. Most comments have been deleted. Enjoy your short stay here
