True repentance involves sincere regret, and not doing those things again. If he is doing positive things today, I'd vote that he be allowed to continue those things. The Nazi situation is somewhat different. If Maher flipped, he is actively saving the lives for when the war goes public, which seems like a different situation to me. Also, be aware that he was likely born into the mafia, and leaving it at any time would have been both ineffective and extremely dangerous up until the present time. I don't have the information to know whether he's truly flipped to help the good guys, but if he did, whatever promises they gave him should be honored. I don't blame anyone for suspecting he's evil and hasn't repented, but I think we'll get a conclusive answer soon, and I support true justice whichever way it goes.
