Ahh anon then I'm completely the opposite! I love my suits, shoes/boots, pocket square etc etc. I have about 12, mostly made to measure and a few off the peg but tailored. I'm not rich either by a long way!
I understand that a well made suit can be quite comfortable, but I could never afford a well made suit of that caliber. Had to wear them for work for a job I had for 3 years. Had an older coworker who had to make a couple trips to Hong Kong, and was able to buy a couple of finely tailored, well made, silk suits that fit him to a T. He said the measurements the guy made were nothing short of embarrassing, but it was worth it. Looked great, and he claimed they were more comfortable than regular clothes. Different times.
I can't quite tell from the picture, but it almost looks like Elon's suit was made for an earlier and lighter version of Elon.
Ever heard of the 1960's modernist fashion/movement? My Father was a London Mod back in the day and I grew up with it, then the next Gen go in to it and it never left me. Hence I love the suits, sharp Italian styling and fashion.
I'm just amazed that people with this sort of money don't dress better! For sure that suit and in fact all of them came off the peg, I wonder if they borrowed them?
For me it's how about I feel in good clothes, stand out in a crowd and gives me confidence. Man if I had a fraction of his wealth I'd have a whole house just for suits!
I believe that knowing how to dress well and appropriately (along with good manners) is something that can really set one apart from the crowd.
Personal grooming, polished shoes without worn heels or scuffs, pressed suits and shirts that fit well are almost an anachronism. Add silk pocket squares and a beautiful tie and go anywhere...you’ll look as if a spaceship just dropped you off.

Hey thanks for the channel recommend, I will take a look.
Typically nowadays when my friends and I go out dressed well in suits, we are always asked if we are going to a wedding! The look on their faces when we say nope, this is how we dress is comical. Times change I get that, but the Modernist era and the clothes that came from it are iconic in my opinion.
My dad was working class - skilled labor, lucky to have a sport coat for special occasions. I had to learn the hard way, so not too familiar with the Mod movement, or maybe I didn't know what it was.
But I always pay attention to the suits the talk show hosts are wearing, if I happen to catch a little of a show. Some guys wear very nice suits, you can tell they fit like a second skin.
The working class youth of the late 1950's and early 1960's is where it (The Modernists or Mod) came from. The kids were fed up in war time hand me downs and wanted something sharp, the Italian cut suits and styles were it. They also took elements from the USA, with sports jackets and the Ivy league look.
And once they had the clothes, the music originally was jazz, and later Tamala Motown and home grown stuff like the Small Faces, then came the transport! The Lambretta's from Italy and Vespas, with coffee shops being their hangouts.
Mod is all about the detail, and standing out from the others (tickets) in the crowd.
The break on the trousers is atrocious. The cut of the silhouette seems comical. Not cut in enough near the shoulder (for British tailoring), too bloused out around the hips.

I have two suits and kilt jacket/waistcoat.
I got the suits for about £100, can buy them off the rack and then get measured and tailored for free.
Maybe Elon has other things on his mind than being vogue but it's good form to feel sharp and gives the right image and impression.

I live in surgical scrubs, and then in Xtratuffs and Patagonia. Threw all my pantyhose and high heels out along the ALCAN 26 years ago ;-)

Sorry I digress.
