I would never willingly buy a vehicle the government can turn off with a switch from afar.
As far as self-driving cars, you can't write enough code to anticipate the stupid shit people are capable of, just watch YouTube for five minutes.
About the only real use I could see for self-driving vehicles is a glorified taxi service around a large scale corporate or educational campus.
Putting them out on public roads at this stage in the game is asking for accidents. Software glitch, bugs etc.
...ground based "cruise missiles"...
Exactly. One could pack a lot of ordinance in these and send them on their merry way.
The cars could be commanded to lock the door and take undesirable occupants to who the fuck knows where.
...doggy winks...
...no need to kill yourself...
...just send the car into the crowd....
Accident is right. An autonomous Uber vehicle killed a pedestrian a few years ago.

...exactly....
...I think On Star has that capability...
...more than likely they all do....
They do, OnStar bragged about it in one of their commercials once that they remotely disabled a car in a police chase.
Wouldn't that be incredibly dangerous depending on the context?
That happened in a video game too, took place in SF…
...there are no coincidences....
Forming herds?
...howls....
Our toaster overlords are practicing herrding techniques.
..."Chassis Come Home"...
MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE
...doggy grins....
Great, now even the Robots are on strike.
Yeh, can't wait for this to happen: self driving trucks
...that is when the Dog stays in his house....
