I'm sorry, but no. The Union was not supposed to be "indivisible" and the whole idea that the states had sovereignty was what the Civil War was fought over. But, the states lost and the Federal government was forever changed with the power firmly within it's grasp. The whole pledge was written by a Socialist named Francis Bellamy.
