In case you're not a dog person, I encourage you to read up on Man's Best Friend.
One of the reasons they get this name is due to their superior smell and hearing over our own. Once you learn how to read them, they will sense things before you do. This makes them great companions even when they're not assisting you in the wild.
And thats just a few of the benefits...
True that. It sucks its its so hard to find an apartment around here that'll take my fox red beagle mix. That nose! We have a ground hog hole under our front porch.Copper always knows when they have come out . Out of total sleep ,head snaps to attention nostrils flexing and right to the door. Very silent dog. In 4 years I heard him bark 2 times...1 bark a piece. Love that fine ottered tailed fella!
Apartments really suck with pets in my experience.
Its gonna be a challenge. Now this family home is 10 rooms not counting attic n basement he loves the big bay windows in the master bedroom (his room..of course) lays on the bed like a king watching the sunrise when I wake up..... I'm hoping shtf before the force us out. I have high ground and can see people coming for a good clip. I've been praying since Baltimore riots if it gets ugly were still here. Not looking that way though.
Hell I'd live in a car w that dog. Except the frigging nursing home wants her car and my jeep since it's in her name. I'm looking at boxes on the dock at work like they're gold!!
he sounds like stud muffin
My puppy is a good family friend and the most annoying thing I have to contend with daily. She is stubborn and she is smart. It makes life difficult, but rewarding in a lot of aspects too.
Unfortunately she is a breed that would rather jump on an intruder to meet them than scare them away.
can confirm accurate...not only learn to read them...you can actually tap into it..whole new level of awareness KEK
Well let's see.....I live down a dirt road that only has three houses on it.
We have 11 dogs ourselves. One neighbor has 8, the other has 6.
I feel safe. Life is good.
Holy shit, 11 dogs. That's a lot of food and shir to deal out and with.
Should we set a pool on how long before dog ownership = white supremacy?
Yeah. Lots of dog food.
Too much dog food.
Would anyone like a puppy?
Howls. ๐บ

Funny story, friend had a dog for YEARS and never really barked at anything, stuck to grunts and growls. One day a documentary about wolves goes, and louder than anyone expected, just like the gif but bigger dog.
...dogs are funny people....
...doggy grins....
I have 6โฆ 7yo American Staffordshire, 5yo American Pit, 4yo Labernard (Lab/St Bernard), 3yo American Staffordshire, 1.5yo American Staffordshire/Beagle/Mutt, and 7mos old Boxer. I want allll the dogs and I worry not about some dirtbag invading my space
sounds like a fun crew!
Well, aren't the dogs in Africa mostly coyotes or similar?
God gave us dogs as a companions with unconditional love and we don't deserve them.
Speaking of which, have you all checked out Catturd's coonhound puppies ? For the last 3+ weeks he's been a midwife, doula, and nanny all rolled into one.
Thanks for that heads up, Iโm partial to hounds after adopting my redbone!
Coonhounds seem really sweet. I'm very partial to the hounds, having grown up with a beagle mix.
...which clearly indicates that people who have the bare minimum level of responsibility required to care for a dog have a high enough sense of responsibility, and self discipline to elevate themselves above becoming a common criminal.
Idk man, everyone has a dog in the ghettos and crime still rampant
But not as much as the ghettos without dogs, according to this study... ๐
Love that.
I love dogs.
We have a German Shepherd our neighbor across the street has a beautiful mix next door neighbor has five dogs, four little yappers and one big black lap. There are also a couple more blue heelers on our block and I believe a pitbull. There was a lovely Rottweiler but she passed recently.
Our GSD will get in between us and any perceived threat instinctively she's awesome, most of the time it's only the mailman, she likes the ups guy lol.
dogs are expensive to own, and crime tends to happen in poorer neighborhoods
Umm, sorry?
Thatโs why you have dogs. Their language is universal.
