It says right on the top "Federal Reserve Note" (FRN). That means, it's owned by them, not you. He who creates controls.
When they say the value of it goes down (by printing more), the value goes down. It's theirs to do with as they please.
The day they say it's worthless, is a day very few are ready for. They can do this. And eventually they will. They'll have no other choice.
When they converted the living and breathing men and women into their PROPERTY in 1933 (FDR), they took away the people's real money (gold) and replaced it with their FRNs. Because PROPERTY (strawman trust styled as "YOUR ALL CAPS NAME") is not allowed to own real property (gold).

In July of 1917, 1 dollar was worth the same as 22.84 in May of 2022.

It's the same color scheme for today's Federal Reserve notes as for the old Monopoly board game. It's just a sly reminder from the bankers that the money becomes worthless when everyone stops playing the game.
Many years ago they removed the word pay from the face of the note. Now it says legal tender, which is something given in lieu of payment. That makes it more of an IOU be passed around, and it requires your faith in it to make it work.
