My ex husband made me watch cool hand Luke a very long time ago. I can't quote any lines. But I remember liking the movie. Yet I've only seen it once. May not be relevant.

Grrr, does anyone use Venmo?
I periodically do some website updates for a local artist and he'll usually send me a check. So he was late last time, forgot, getting older, so I sent him a reminder and he asked if I had Venmo for an instant payment. So I created an account and he sent it. That was 6/23, on 6/25 I get an email from Venmo saying: "Your Venmo account has been frozen due to recent activity that appears to be a violation of our User Agreement". It requested photos of a government issued ID to verify the account. Since then I've submitted photos of driver's license, later my passport, have replied several times requesting a status update and even submitted a help request on their site. Not one reply as of yet and account still frozen. Bloody frustrating they are!
So today I filed a complaint with reportfraud.ftc.gov and my local county consumer protection agency. The latter has helped me resolve a couple things in years past so hopefully will prove helpful again.
Personally, I think all these micro payment systems are complete Cabal controlled and worthless for patriots. Getting people to pay via crypto, and getting it cashed out immediately if a better idea.
PayPal does it all, but still pretty much Cabal controlled. Of course there is always the old fashioned way; Western Union.
I know people who got their paypal accounts frozen with vague and stupid reasons. I used to use it a lot, but lately try to keep away from them.

Getting people is the key word, you can't just get everyone to do it. While crypto may be getting easier it's still not as easy as fiat.
Admittedly, I did wait two days where I should have immediately been adding my info to withdraw the money. I would have done it ASAP if only I'd known! lol
Only $100 and the sender is in the same state & county as me. That's what I really don't get WTF triggered a potential violation of TOS. To me it seems mere use of their service violates TOS. And the whole thing is convoluted, directions aren't very clear, from logging into my account I get a brief popup saying account frozen but nothing to be found from within my account about how, why, or remedy.
I declare the thief stop delaying our prosperity and stop stealing out joy right now in Jesus name!
If your FTC and CPA efforts don't prove fruitful, consider filing a complaint with your state's AG. Some appear to be more helpful than others so you may want to first research a little regarding whether or not your AG has been corrupted (eg. any controversies where they seem to be erring in a political manner). File a complaint with the BBB as well (though they don't deal much in problem resolution, but more in ratings).

Thanks, I had seen something about filing with the AG. FTC said besically they don't respond to individual reports so seemed they more or less wait until they have enough complaints to do something.
Yeah, last week after replying for an update I did a quick search on V and found nothing encouraging on them or their practices.
You might want to inform your artist client about this and suggest he try and pull his payment out from his end, if possible. I'm going to guess V is just planning on stealing everyone's money they want to. Good luck with this.
Yeah, that's crossed my mind but as a last resort being he's an older guy and I doubt the process is an easy/simple one.

Tell him how much time the whole venmo thing has cost you.. It sounds like you have more ti.e in that than the website updates.... Venmo is the new nigerian lottery scam...if they can drag out payments a week, then they can use tat to float their business..

While I am broke and unemployed currently, the $100 would be nice but not going to break me if it's delayed. I probably do have about the same time involved in trying to sort Venmo out as his last round of updates lol I'll mention it if I need to have him see about a reversal but otherwise I don't want to put it on his plate. I know it should be, but eh, what evs.
Definitely not accepting another payment though, that's for damn sure. I'd rather just send the money to the poor Nigerian family of my recently deceased rich uncle.

I was joking, theres been a bunch of people in here lately self promoting in a not so subtle way. I found the book and it looks fascinating.
My family has an interesting story to add, our history goes back to the scottish highlands, lots of red heads in my family. But, the most interesting thing is my great grandfather, who was as ginger as they get, was adopted by a pioneer family that was settling in south florida near big cypress around 1900. He was found as an infant, entirely alone on a hunting trail in Big Cypress wrapped in the skin of a florida panther. They just assumed his parents were killed by indians and they left the baby behind assuming it would get eaten by an alligator or something, but then my great-great grandfather came through there hunting what he swore was a giant dog and found the baby.
Cool story!! You should check out the book/tv series Outlander. Amazing series.

I am through the Dirty Harry movies. Excellent movies which I am glad I was inspired to watch again. The last one even features young « James » Carey and Liam Neeson.
I also watched a Rom Com featuring Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche which I did not dislike.
These are typical summer days when I have to be around for work if something fails but I don’t actually have to perform otherwise.
