May I ask which Bible version they were using?

All bible versions we have access to are flawed. Maybe if that crypt below the Vatican was opened to the public we could have a real version of the Bible written by God......

This is completely not true. Statements like this expose the lack of training one has in the field of 1st century textual criticism. The translations that we have today may differ in style (some are thought for thought, while others are word for word, and others are a combination of the two), they are all within a 99.9% accuracy from what the original autographs said. No variation or discrepancy touches any major doctrine of Christianity. We can be utterly confident that the Bible we hold in our hands today, is what the original authors wrote down.

Next question.

Grew up in the Catholic Church and learned basic rules and history but nothing more. Early 20's joined Baptist Church where KJ was used but NIV was my choice because I understood everything I was reading where KJ left me baffled as to what was being written.

I have read both KJ and NIV cover to cover and NIV is where I learned about Christianity. Spent years teaching Sunday School and used both to explain lessons.

Criticism of NIV was a few verses omitted for the most part but not understanding the language in KJ would have left me without a clue.

I think it's more important to find a version of the Bible that is easiest for you to read and understand. The best translation in the world is useless if you can't make sense of it. Once one becomes more knowledgeable about Christian principles, then one can consider switching to a different version.

To me, it's most important that you find something that you will actually read and use. One can worry about the subtle differences later.

1 John 5:7

New International Version For there are three that testify:

New Living Translation So we have these three witnesses—

English Standard Version For there are three that testify:

New American Standard Bible For there are three that testify:

NASB 1995 For there are three that testify:

King James Bible For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

The Comma Johanneum, also known as the Comma Johannine, is a textual variant in regards to 1 John 5:7-8. The word comma simply means “short clause,” and Johanneum means “pertaining to John.” Without the “comma,” 1 John 5:7-8 reads, “For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” With the “comma,” 1 John 5:7-8 reads, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” If the Comma Johanneum was originally part of 1 John 5:7-8, it would be the clearest and most direct reference to the Trinity in the entire Bible.

However, it is highly unlikely that the Comma Johanneum was originally a part of 1 John. None of the oldest Greek manuscripts of 1 John contain the comma, and none of the very early church fathers include it when quoting or referencing 1 John 5:7-8. The presence of the Comma Johanneum in Greek manuscripts is actually quite rare until the 15th century A.D. It is primarily found in Latin manuscripts. While some of the Latin manuscripts containing the Comma Johanneum are ancient, the Comma Johanneum did not appear in the original Latin Vulgate written by Jerome.

In the 16th century, when Desiderius Erasmus was compiling what became known as the Textus Receptus, he did not include the Comma Johanneum in the 1st or 2nd editions. Due to intense pressure from the Catholic Church and others who wanted it included because of its support for trinitarianism, Erasmus included the Comma Johanneum in later editions of the Textus Receptus. His decision resulted in the Comma Johanneum being included in the King James Version of the Bible and later in the New King James Version. None of the modern Greek texts (UBS 4, Nestle-Aland 27, Majority Text) contain the Comma Johanneum. Of all the modern English translations, only the New King James Version and Modern English Version include the Comma Johanneum.

While it would be convenient for there to be an explicit statement confirming the Trinity in the Bible, it is highly unlikely that the Comma Johanneum was originally a part of 1 John. Some ancient scribe, either intentionally or accidentally added it to a Latin manuscript, and then that addition was copied thousands upon thousands of times. This eventually resulted in the Comma Johanneum appearing in the vast majority of Latin manuscripts. Whatever the scribe’s motives, it is absolutely wrong to add to God’s Word. While what the Comma Johanneum says is true, it is not a God-breathed statement and does not belong in the Bible. The doctrine of the Trinity is taught and implied in many other biblical passages. If God thought an explicit mention of the Trinity was necessary, He Himself would have made sure it was in His Word.

Sorry bro, the final authority up in this camp is the Bible itself. The book that I have is God breathed and inspired, and it is complete in itself. You can join up with the world system of scholarship, I am not of this world. I have faith in the God I worship and adore to give me His Words of life as He promised He would.

Some ancient scribe, either intentionally or accidentally added it to a Latin manuscript, and then that addition was copied thousands upon thousands of times.

What you don't seem to grasp is that the very reason we even know there are variations or errors (like the above statement says) is because of the sheer number of manuscript copies we have to work from. So statements like "There are errors in the bible" presupposes we know what the original said in order to call something an error or mistake.

Because we have so many (over 25,000 - not even including the quotations by the early Church Fathers) copies, we're able to work back to what the original autographs said within a 99.9% accuracy. And that .01% has nothing to do with ANY doctrinal teachings of Christianity.

No, the original autographs were God breathed and inspired - the copies and translations were not.

Self refuting statement because you have to rely on the scholarship of those who translated the original KJV.

I rely on the Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit to have guided the hands of those who wrote this translation. O ye of little faith.

You're getting hung up on where the verses are marked. The original texts didn't have chapters and verses, but they are helpful for references. If you go to the You Version Bible app, choose 1 John 5:7-8, click on to highlight, then choose compare at the bottom, you can see about 9 versions, and they all pretty much agree. I don't read Hebrew yet, but I have been reading the Bible through several times, choosing a different version each time, and while there are a few differences, they don't change the overall meaning of the passage.

Agreement is a better term. The 26,000+ extant manuscripts of the Greek New Testament cross examined are in that ballpark of agreement. Even the beloved, perhaps idolized, Textus Receptus is included in that study. The sources are in agreement. The sense of the literature should follow through the translations in agreement.

That's what satan says. We don't have the Words of God so how can we possibly follow them? 30 different versions after 1881, none of them agree with each other so we have to seek another authority besides the Holy Bible. This is where the scholars and their bellies come in. They consult the Greek and blah blah blah.

As soon as the KJV came off the printing press in 1611, behold; the world left the dark ages and entered into the Renaissance, America was born, religious freedom was instituted all across the world, and the fall of rome was begun.

After all of the perverted garbage came off the press in 1881, behold; two world wars full of mass murder and genocide, and a world rule by homos and freaks.

Rebel if you must, it's nothing new under the Sun.

This shows a terrible lack of faith in God. Do you not think if He wanted to give us the message He could not preserve it through the ages against hostile jamming? These kinds of claims are contrived, often to deny the deity of Christ or one of the basic tenets of Christianity. What you really need is the Holy Spirit. The Bible is not like other books, and we don't have space to debate everything here. The Bible is a supernatural book, and you need the Holy Spirit to truly help you understand it. But you don't have to climb a mountain or do some great feat to get Him. You just need to sincerely ask Jesus to save you, to give Him your life, and ask Him to give you Holy Spirit. He will reveal Himself to you, but God doesn't play games, and He knows if you are not sincere.

1 Timothy 3:16

New International Version Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

English Standard Version Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

NASB 1995 By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.

King James Bible And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

God manifested in the flesh versus "he." Do you deny the Divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ?

1 John 5:7

New International Version For there are three that testify:

English Standard Version For there are three that testify:

NASB 1995 For there are three that testify:

King James Bible For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Those verses are all in agreement, and I absolutely claim the divinity of Christ. God is the He, and so is Jesus.

Jesus said, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father. "

The actual words might not be identical, but the meaning is the same. It would be the same if you translated into other languages. Sometimes there is not a word for word way to say it in another language, but that doesn't change the truth being communicated.

I agree that Satan is crafty and often includes part of the truth in his lie. What is your point?

Do you not like the Septuagint, or you don't like the Greek NT? You don't want Jesus to be divine? You want to discount the whole Bible? Where are we going with this? I don't think we can do an exhaustive critique analysis on this forum.

All I know is Jesus saved me when I was 7 years old. He has been my faithful friend and companion my whole life. When I was 48, (I think it was), I asked for the gift of tongues and Holy Spirit gave it to me. I am aware that deceiving spirits can cause people to pray in tongues, too, but I asked for it from God, and I am certain that He would not give me an evil spirit instead. I know that I know that I know, and am willing to die for this confession, that Jesus Christ is King of Kings, and one day, "every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, to the glory of the Father. "

Peace, fren.

Interesting take/historical lesson on the Bible. I never thought of it in those terms. I grew up with just the KJV, occasionally the NKJV if my parents were feeling like a Rebels. 😜😂 Since then, they’ve used the NIV, ASB, and ESV. I think they settled on the ESV because my BIL got them into that one. I’m so used to the KJV though, that most verses sound off to me in other versions. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The sheer number of NT manuscript copies (over 25k) makes your point completely irrelevant. The more copies of something you have, the better your ability to work back to what the originals said.

On top of this, your position is self refuting. The only way for you to "know" that the text was "changed" is if you have an unchanged text to compare it with.

Regarding your worship of the KJV. The discovery of manuscripts didn't stop when that translation was written. There have been 100's of additional manuscripts discovered which shed light on older translations. Translations written 400 years after the KJV have the benefit of these additional manuscripts, thereby becoming a little more "accurate" in their renditions. This is the reason why we even have a NEW King James Version (NKJV) - to take into consideration the discovery of the additional copies.

Could also be what Satan says to get you to follow a book that was written by man, who is flawed by his very nature, and not a single soul is righteous without God.

You can't know that the KJV wasn't manipulated. Who tells you it wasn't? Another man?

If the crypt is unsealed, then maybe we could have some historical ancient proof of whether our current translation was tampered with or not, and in what ways.

Its just a wish. I doubt that crypt will be unsealed within even our grandchildren's grandchildren's lifetimes.

Do you still end all of your prayers in the name of Ra? Might be something to ponder.

Yeah, roman catholics kinda do be that way, they get into some freaky stuff, which is probably why it would be a good idea to publicly open all of the tomes they have locked away, so discernment can be used against it and verified, hell it could even confirm that nothing was manipulated, imagine that.

If my assertion is that the words could have been manipulated, is to use those same manipulated/mistranslated words as a basis of truth?

You can do better that that. Consider this:

You could say "God would not allow a man to write wrongs into the word of God". Yet... did God not give us free will? A free will to choose, to choose to be Godly in spirit, and sow spiritual . God does not prevent evil humans from raping other humans and draining their adrenochrome for the elites to feast upon, by the same token, God chooses not to force man to holiness. As long as words are written by man, they are subject to scrutiny and discernment; except, these are tenants that are brought by the same words I bring under assertion.

You must realize, that whatever your concept of God, must be one where God must stand idly by while a 3 year old is raped and eaten alive whilst she is crying for a savior. That is not to say that God is wrong, or bad, but it must prove that God has chosen to allow man freedom of spirit and will (choice is not without consequence, spiritual or physical), and that God does not interfere with mans ability to choose and have free will, and that God never, ever, crosses that line, and with discernment, we can at least know the words about man being created with free will, are true.

I’ve been a Christian my whole life, and what I used to always REALLY struggle with was the fact that no matter how hard I TRIED to be “good,” I would always mess up. Going to church and reading the Bible can sometimes highlight the many ways in which we sin every single day. The many ways we aren’t worthy. The many ways we don’t deserve anything good. It used to get me so discouraged, and I would kinda give up for awhile bc I couldn’t do things “right.” I felt like I must be such a disappointment to God- I cuss sometimes, I lie sometimes, I get drunk sometimes, I’m selfish sometimes, I’m lustful sometimes. I thought I should quit trying, bc even when I tried my hardest, I still failed miserably. What is IMPERATIVE to understand is that God knows how bad we mess up and loves us no matter what. All of the heroes in the Bible were extremely flawed people - I think God did that on purpose. You don’t need to be perfect in order to be loved and accepted by Him or to do amazing work in the world for Him. The more broken you are, the more he can work through you. I think of it like this- if my mom, dad, friends, and family can love me to pieces knowing all the mistakes I’ve made and bad habits I have- then God surely can and does. My advice is keep the focus on Jesus, on how you can help and love others, and focus less on being mad at yourself for your own shortcomings. Just wanted to share that bc it was a huge stumbling block for me for YEARS

Below are two sermons, Part I and Part II, from John MacArthur, a Pastor who has been faithfully preaching the Word of God for 53 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley CA. He is recognized as an outstanding Biblical Scholar, Preacher and Author. He preaches verse by verse through the Bible.

We are researchers who deal in open-source information, reasoned argument, and dank memes. We do battle in the sphere of ideas and ideas only. We neither need nor condone the use of force in our work here. WE ARE THE PUBLIC FACE OF Q. OUR MISSION IS TO RED-PILL NORMIES.

WHY Q?

"Those who cannot understand that we cannot simply start arresting w/o first: ensuring the safety & well-being of the population shifting the narrative removing those in DC through resignation to ensure success defeating ISIS/MS13 to prevent fail-safes freezing assets to remove network-to-network abilities kill off COC to prevent top-down comms/org, etc. etc. should not be participating in discussions." Rules

Q Supporters

This is The Great Awakening. Our community is international, focused on helping ourselves and others walk away from the programming, and return our governments to "by the people, for the people!"

Follow the Law

No posts or comments that violate laws in your jurisdiction or the United States. The Feds are always watching!

No Bad Behavior!

No doxing, including revealing personal information of non-public figures, as well as addresses, phone numbers, etc. of public figures. All GAW users must adhere to the highest standards of conduct, whichever .WIN they are on. If we are notified by other moderators of incivil behavior on other .WINs, you WILL be banned here!

Civil Discussion ONLY**

They want you divided.

They want you labeled by race, religion, class, sex, etc.

Divided you are weak [no collective power].

Divided you attack each other and miss the true target [them].

No PAYtriots/No Self Promotion

Linking or promoting merchandise, fundraising, or spamming personal websites, blogs, or channels is not permitted. Do not attempt to profit from Q or advertise for those who do. Peace is the prize. We do it for free.

Questions and Concerns

All moderation questions and concerns should be submitted via modmail. DO NOT GRIEF the mods.

Expand your thinking

Remember, this .WIN is the public face of the Great Awakening, and, as a member here, you agree to represent the Great Awakening movement against Globalism, Communism and Progressive Insanity in the best, most positive way possible. NOTE: Your comments and posts may become news. Keep it classy!

This is not a 'fringe conspiracy' site: Visit https://conspiracies.win if that's your thing!

No doomers or shills

If you can't use common sense, you'll get banned without hesitation. If you're a shill, you fall under this rule. If you're a doomer, you fall under this rule as you just add garbage to the site like the other two. This includes forum sliding.

General Rules

  • Mods will issue NO warnings, followed by temporary bans and/or permanent bans. DO NOT GRIEF THE MODS.

  • Keep posts related to topics Q has raised or that are current.

  • Keep post duplication (especially from other .WINs) to a minimum.

  • HIGH EFFORT, HIGH-INFO posts only! Please respect other readers' time. Please use descriptive titles. No URLs in titles, pls. No clickbait.

  • No fame-fagging; no, "your" post did not get removed! Were you the original author?? Eyes on the prize, people!

  • Memes encouraged, but no low-quality, low-info posts.

  • Keep it honest and accurate.

  • GAW Supporters ONLY. (Sorry, the train had no brakes.)

  • Handshake noobs will be scrutinized by their Q knowledge, sincerity, and respect.

  • Remember, your conduct here represents the Q movement! OUR ENEMIES ARE WATCHING!

  • Please direct all complaints to modmail first!
