I've seen some of the more liberal local institutions, like the public library, where everyone is starting to mask up again.
Mid-term elections are just over 3 months away. What have you all seen? Are they going to try it again?

They might try, but monkeypox is not airborne. so that's gonna take a bit more doing.

That's why they're angry every time it's pointed out to be an STD and especially mad when pointed out that it pretty much only effects gay men, that defuses a lot of their attempts to make white straight liberals scared.

I agree, but I was pointing out the inconsistency within their own narrative.
IRL I believe that monkeypox is a side-effect of the vax. For some reason, gay men get more vaxes, as was the case in the 80s and 90s, when they, and drug addicts, got the Hep-B vax by the droves, because they are exposed to disease. This, IMO caused the AIDS epidemic - more like a vax induced injury.
There is a reason why the Bible tells us that men should not lay with men. It's just not a good idea.

I've upped the engagement of maskers in public. "You know you don't have to be a slave if you don't want to be?" If I get negative feedback, I respond with "masks are great for making slaves...ask a muslim".
I have seen more people with masks on lately. Some stores have started posting signs again but most people are ignoring them. And the hospitals have never given up the masks. The local news still keeps banging on about the "cases".
So yeah, it looks like blue states might go for it again.

We have heard rumours from various sources saying a lockdown will be put in place August/September. They are pushing masks again here as well. Be interesting to see if Kiwis comply.
