Neither does the Constitution of the United States mention abortion which is no excuse for Kansas legislators and governor to let this go. They need to draft legislation on abortion, it's a state's rights issue. Draft the damn legislation.
I am not a lawyer but leftist courts have no standards of fairness and justice.
The legislature could pass a law saying babies after x weeks must be treated as separate individuals to the mother, their bodily autonomy is legally separate from the mother's, and the mother's bodily autonomy must not impede on the child's survival.
Even if they did that to override the corrupt court's definition of bodily autonomy, they probably would still overturn it.
and the mother's bodily autonomy must not impede on the child's survival.
Bad legalese. Easily manipulable to remove the child from a parent on just about any basis that they can argue is impeding on their survival, from eating the wrong food, to too much/too little exercise, etc.
I have noticed states wording things so that you're not really sure what a "Yes" vote means. So I have to research, fill out the sample ballot the way I want to vote, and bring it with me.
WHY Kansas? Why was Tiller in Kansas? He took late-term "patients" from all over. WHY and how did KS allow that blood to flow so freely in their state for all those years?
Sebelius from Kansas was responsible for implementing ObamaCare.
The Kansas Supreme Court is completely screwed and said legislature you have no right to impede on bodily autonomy, which tried to take the power out of the hands of the legislature. Aka they are legislating from the bench.
Legislature said ok fine, we will specifically enshrine our ability to create laws on this issue in the Constitution. Which is completely messed up as they already have that power.
There was a fucking typo on the ballot!?
There were two actually, "pregnacy" lol
Somehow the Kansas Supreme Court is completely screwed and forced the issue.

You get an "a" for your find. ; )

I mean purely with a child in utero but yes, best to have a lawyer contribute to the language.
The question is really simple actually:
The "following" is the confusing part.
Texas does the same with Propositions. I usually read them & research them so I know how to vote.
I think the most states pull this shit, Missouri does or has.
I have noticed states wording things so that you're not really sure what a "Yes" vote means. So I have to research, fill out the sample ballot the way I want to vote, and bring it with me.
I'll take "Who is Kamala Harris? for $100 Alec.
Lol
Soooo they can make abortion laws that only apply to rape and incest? That's what I took from that, at least
This is simultaneously a lawyers wet dream and worst nightmare, it means exactly what they and their opponent wants it to.
So exactly why did the pro abortion crowd vote against this bill? They thought is was too pro-life??
Sadly Wichita Kansas was the site of the most abhorrent late term abortionist, Tiller. https://www.liveaction.org/news/women-tell-horror-stories-of-abortions-they-had-at-dr-tillers-clinic/

Come ON man, Kansas!
It's not incomprehensible, it's just an uncomfortable bit of poorly written legalese.
But then, honestly, all legalese is barely comprehensible to begin with.
"...may pass laws regarding abortion, including, but not limited to..."
Huh? Not limited to? Sounds to me like this gives them the right to do whatever the heck they please.
Right, this seems to mean the legislature has final say on abortion. They could pass a law saying abortion must be allowed at all times.
So the reason this is here is https://www.theusconstitution.org/news/kansas-supreme-court-rules-state-constitution-protects-abortion-rights-a-decision-that-could-lead-to-challenges-in-other-states/
