Science is never settled and remember, scientists are people. They can lie, cheat and make mistakes just like the rest of us.

Look up the first people who tried to repeat Millikan's electron charge experiment. They got different answers from Millikan so they massaged their data. They would remove data they deemed to be outliers etc. Eventually, it was discovered that Millikan had the wrong answer himself! Those scientists who first repeated his experiment should have stuck to their guns and presented their actual data. It was probably correct. Richard Feynman thought that was a scientific low point.

Then there was Mendel who did some pioneering work on genetics with pea plants before anyone was really interested. He could not quite get the data he needed to prove his inheritance theory so he manipulated the data to make it "come right". It turns out his guess WAS right but he should really have gone with the actual data.

Then there was Eddington who tried to confirm Einstein's gravitational lensing effect. He got an answer somewhere between the Newton result and the Einstein result. He decided to choose Einstein even though he did not have the data.

Recently, we have had the hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) papers. They showed HCQ to be ineffective. It works like a gun - you still need ammunition, in this case zinc. So, people said you need zinc so they tested zinc. Same result: ineffective. They were told, no, you need both HCQ and zinc - just like you need a gun and ammunition.

So they tried that but again ineffective. When the papers were examined they found that the the medications were applied too late - like issuing the guns and ammo after the burglars have left and gone home! They were told that the medication needed to be applied early so they tried that and still reported: ineffective. Examining what they did it was discovered that they overdosed people on HCQ.

MSM loved it, of course, they had four papers showing that HCQ and zinc were ineffective. It was only if you took time to delve into the science papers that you could see how they distorted the results.

Science is something you never stop questioning, no matter how much evidence you think you have. Science is just asking questions, that's all, who else remembers middle school?

And even then question the results. Essure is a classic example, watch the bleeding edge Netflix. Claims "safe and effective", worse side effects include cancer or death. They literally override every women's results in the study because it didn't suit the narrative. Sick farks

No shit, it also is subject to spiritual laws that may cause a scientific fact to fall on it's face.

Humans can't fly, yet they observed Jesus Christ being taken up to heaven. For those that don't believe, you should humble the fuck up. .

The battlefield is the mind, facts may change, truth does not.

Right. True science relentlessly questions itself, its methods, its conclusions. It constantly tries to poke holes in its own research, to replicate experiments and see if results change. Actual science never rests on its laurels: it even still considers gravity a "theory". It calls dark energy and dark matter dark because it's admitting it knows nothing about them, can't see them, can't actually quantify them.

There's no such thing as "settled science" or "scientific consensus".

Those are MARKETING terms.

As a physicist myself, I always remain skeptical, even in the face of peer reviewed information.

Louie CK said something that made it click nicely for me. He said you dont trust science. Science is meant to be questioned and redone. You put your trust in your faith. Then it clicked even harder why they push trust the science. They want science and them to be our God. No thank you!

Nawww no way, TOTALLY gotta trust the soyantists. After all, a LOT of people here still do. Folks don't question the virologist soyantists about how they "isolate" viruses to identify and prove they're the cause of something. It's because they're totally trustworthy right? Everything they say is good enough for people to believe they need to "isolate" (lol) themselves from family, friends, etc. It all must be true because EVERYONE already thinks it is right? There's not even a need to mention anything at all about how fishy it may be because "it's what we've always known" or someone is afraid of it or whatever other excuse one wants to come up with in order to avoid confronting a lie folks have believed their entire lives without ever asking why right? That's how it works right? And now this post has to get hit with a bunch of downvotes and kept clean of replies that use pure logic instead of hearsay to explain why it should be believed yeah?
