I actually saw Crist speak at a Democrat fundraiser a couple months ago (they rented the space I work in--wasn't there for fun). He spoke solely of the need to beat Desantis. Didn't have anything to say about his own platform. I would describe his tone as desperate.
I don't think anything should be taken for granted, but I would surely like to have a DeSantis in Maryland. Maybe Dan Cox can pull out a win (praying and very hopeful) but this state is really BLUE! We are way too close to DC.
I wanted to move to FL in the next year or so but many who I know who live there said don't. They said the crazies are coming in from NY and NJ with crappy politics. They said the property tax on his home near Jacksonville doubled.
I can't compare FL to TN because I've never lived in TN. Although we moved here from NJ recently and were considering either state.
Culturally, FL is way more conservative. There's still some crazies but there are a lot of proud conservatives here and it's much easier for me to speak my mind here than it was in NJ/NYC.
Prices on properties are going way, way up. I can't compare it to other parts of the country but I think it's pretty rough here right now in that department.
I just moved to N Florida from NJ. Best decision I ever made. The locals are some of the nicest people I have encountered. All my neighbors are from NJ/ NY. seems like alot of like minded people had the same idea coming here. They all seem very cool. The cost of living seems to be a lot less than up North. Our taxes are around the same.
Everything in Florida is better imo.

Most of the people moving here to Florida have voted demtard their whole life. They do not have the ability to vote Republican!! Every stupid tax increase that makes it on the ballot gets approved here. The yankee take is we paid less in taxes back north and don't mind an increase here and there.
please look elsewhere. the population has gotten so extreme down here it's getting very frustrating. there are NO vacancies for living unless you're LOADED, traffic has gotten about 50% worse so you can imagine wherever you go is also packed, and of course you don't know who the hell is here now.
He's resigning because he's running for FL Governor and can't run for both offices. As if he has a chance at beating Gov DeSantis.

Mt Dora is cute. Kind of a sightseeing destination. A little hilly which makes it unique for us visitors.
