Lol ok I think this may be a bit of a goose chase. Go to newspapers.com and grab a free subscription and search for: "Hundreds of government officials worship Satan!"
It's a "News We Missed" link to a tabloid article from 7/23 Weekly World News. Article wasn't nuked, there just wasn't one to begin with.

The biggest takeaway I have from this little exercise is that papers like Weekly World News have been running cover (perhaps knowingly, perhaps not) for some really bad stuff for a really long time.
Basically the big news agencies stay away from the true stories they want to cover up, leaving it to the tabloids to cover in the most sensational manner possible.
EDIT: Also, newspapers.com is actually pretty cool. You can really time warp around on a topic very quickly.
Very plausible. It's like the movie "Men In Black" where Tommy Lee Jones's character reveals to Will Smith's character that MIB uses the tabloids for the latest alien news. Soft disclosure along with "hidden in plain sight". Added bonus of controlled opposition and psywar ops to gauge public reaction.
That's what I thought of too. A nod to the tabloids of being more truthful than MSM.

I tried doing a search for the author, Janet Marit, and her Citizens For The Way of Truth, and nothing is coming up.
