Any other Marines notice this position?

Marines-At least when I served this was not a position you could stand at. It was position of attention, parade rest or at ease. Unless this is some special ceremonial position I didn’t learn this is very unusual. Any other jarheads notice this?
It's a ceremonial parade rest. If you never served at 8th and I or HMX-1, you wouldn't have been exposed to it.
Edit: Or Marine Band...
Funny you mention that - I pinged my friend who did 20 year at 8th & I, retired Master Gunney (Marine Band). He had to ping friends to find out as well - it is a ceremonial parade rest, but rarely used. About the only examples I can find involve holding a Garand or with a bugle tucked under the arm.
If you watch Trump’s Inaugural address video, 2 Marines are standing at the doors behind Trump, in the same position.
I'm a Sailor but I recognize the position. Just can't remember what the name of it is.
It’s a modified parade rest for gaurds, hands in front to be ready for an attack.
Yeah, but usually there is an M-1 in their hands.
Normally when the President passes, Marines salute and then stand at parade rest/hands behind the back but here is a more casual stance. My grandma claims they were thanking God for not being in the Army. All joking aside, the MC ceremonial units i.e silent drill team and band don’t necessary follow standard fleet protocol. That’s important to know. They can stand with their hands in front. It’s ceremonial parade rest.
However, the Marine Corps forbids personnel from being used or participating in political events. There is some flak about them being used at this speech, and also the band was there. They will not be used as props- but of course they were because this BS admin does whatever they want and I think it is to cause turmoil and anger in any way possible. The xiden admin claims this wasn’t a political speech but everyone knows it was. We all heard it. It’s outrageous, disgusting and wrong but the ceremonial units can bend a little and xiden pushes a lot so.. yes it happened.
Not sure if it was shopped, but zoom on the light marine, and he is holding his watch
Interesting
It is time to move from darkness to light.
Soldier. Familiar with Old Guard. Nothing. I've been searching for 15 min and can't find anything. Pinging a friend.
I thought this too, but then thought maybe its some high end pogy drill and ceremonies stuff they do at 8th and I and dont teach the rest of us.
Definitely not parade rest. Hands are behind your back.
Fake marines, not standard parade rest, and a light on it to point it all out. Patriots in control.
Propaganda production...like the rest of CGIJoe's footage for the past 2 yrs...
True story. I look very closely at all the military that’s usually in the background especially the Marines. Another thing I’ve noticed is a lot of 8th & I Marines (the Presidents honor guard) don’t have Pistol marksmanship badges. This is also very unusual.
Kind of hard to be a Marine without one of those, yes?
Certain versions of the dress blue A uniform only employ medals vs ribbons and Marksmanship badges. Ditto for the white pants. That part is not unusual.
I've only ever seen hands in front of the body like this with the silent drill platoon, who go to parade rest with their weapons in front of them. Not a normal posture imo.
I have heard that they used a blue screen for this part of the movie lol
