Don't get me wrong, I do believe Trump likely respects Putin. But this is a false equivalency. Putin is a world leader of a foreign nation. Whereas the examples provided are political opponents within Trumps own nation. Clandestine's reasoning only works if he provides examples of other foreign leaders with disparaging nicknames.
Rocket Man is a young "leader" of a country that seeks to protect itself from the new world order, President Trump joked with him as a father would with a son, not in the way of an enemy.
Right, but the OP's observation is Trump only gives nicknames to his enemies, but Kim Jong Un was someone he got along with and gave a nickname to, so that would not be a valid observation.
Now we can say it is a different type of nickname but it still invalidates the initial observation.
The President respects foreign leaders regardless of who they are because of the way they legally obtained their power. President Trump has to do this because he clearly works with them. In contrast look at how other world leaders treat Joe Biden. Just this week, Biden was put way back of a church for the Queen's funeral. You don't disrespect the leader of the free world like that.

Rocketman is one, what did he call Merkel, I can’t remember.
He called her ANGALA!
But didn't he get along with Kim Hong Un? So giving him a nickname would be inconsistent with this pattern regardless

I heard that he wasn't actually invited to the funeral and just gatecrashed. Can anyone confirm or deny?
The British may have dirty hands, but it may be they still have self-respect.
I believe the head of state of each country was invited along with his or her wife or husband. The problem with Joe Biden was that he was late.
The Russian, Belarusian and Iranian heads of state were not invited.
