Won’t say what state, but it was in a VERY red state in a moderately rural area. I just felt vindicated when I overheard 3 former Californians, 1 customer and 2 employees, conversing about hating California and moving here to get away from all the liberal craziness. One of them was apparently a veteran from San Diego and the other was from Temecula, not sure where the third one was from.
Anyway, I just felt a little vindicated hearing about a bunch of former Californians who moved to a VERY red state talk about how they hate liberals and moved here because the state aligned more with their personal beliefs, morals, and politics.
Figured I’d share it since people on our side have this weird disconnect where a lot of them want to act like EVERYONE who moved to a red state from a blue state (usually California and New York), is an Uber liberal who will vote blue and ruin their new state.
That’s simply not true. It’s not 100% of course, but the overwhelming majority of transplants to red states (85-90%~) are conservative and moving to escape liberalism and find somewhere that’s more inline with their beliefs and morals. The same is true of transplants to blue states.
It’s called the Gate’s Gulch phenomenon. It’s from Atlas Shrugged. Basically, people congregate where they feel like they’ll find those who are like minded. That’s why places like LA and NYC are technically still growing in terms of population, even if the state as a whole is losing population. Liberals move into the Uber liberal metropolitan areas in blue states but the rest of the state sees a drastic population decrease since all the conservatives in rural areas and even in the urban and suburban areas are moving out in droves to Red States.
Think about New York. NYC is growing, but upstate is seeing a population decline.
I realize this is a bit of rant, but I just felt a bit vindicated after this encounter and figured I’d make a post sharing it and pointing out the hypocrisy that some on our side seem to have.
We can’t have it both ways. Either everyone moving to red states is a liberal and turning them legitimately blue, or they’re cheating and red states are much redder than we believe while blue states are light red/pink at the very least despite the influx of liberal into their urban centers.
Rant over, feel free to discuss.
I have thought about moving out of a blue state. But then I remembered I’m not a bitch and I’m going to fight tooth and nail to save the republic of California.
Hey it worked for Virginia, granted Virginia wasn’t as cucked as California yet, but Q outright said we’d see the death of the “D” party before this was over. So California WILL be freed eventually.
Respect for waiting out the storm in liberal hell though.
Hopefully WA next!
Still won’t fix the 405.
This is me. I'm not going to abandon Minny to the godless communists. We're a red state and should have "flipped" last election. Like Cali, brainwashed leftists I'm sure helped the Uniparty perfect the election fraud scheme (and it probably went into overdrive after Ventura was governor) and export it slowly over the years.
Same, and thank you for your service.
I’m in Texas and the majority are still assholes sorry to say
Eh you can be a butthole and still be conservative. The two are not mutually exclusive. So my point still stands. I’m not defending their crappy attitudes or driving skills, I’m just making a point about the fact that the overwhelming majority of transplants don’t fit the political stereotype a lot of people seem to assume is true about them.
By all means, feel free to call them out on their douchebaggery. If the shoe fits after all.
Guess I should say Blue assholes
I moved from the tenderloin in San Francisco in 2009 to Kansas city,MO. When I moved here I was a libtard. I was 1 year clean and sober. I am still clean and sober and have become the most conservative person I know. Kansas city is more liberal than I expected thanks a lot to KU. I stay away from liberals. I cannot stand them. I mock them every chance I get. When I see bright colour hair I see poison. It took about 6 years to completely change my ideology. Thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ and the bible. Liberals are vile the bible says. I agree. They should be ostracized and shamed.
The DS tools are all here so the fight will be here. The subversion of California isn't people. It's programming. Social engineering. Deception. It's a spiritual war.
You can't run from evil and you can't hide from it either. Arm yourselves with the truth and find a place that you're willing to stand your ground and then stand your ground.
In 2021, 160,000ish Californians moved to Texas. Even if 80% of them were Republican,
The official claim is that somewhere in the vicinity 70% of illegal border crossings are apprehended.
1.6 million apprehensions in 2021, which means 480,000 illegals officially made it into the US in 2021. If just 1/3rd of them stayed in Texas, it more than eliminates the amount of red transplants from CA.
Something tells me the numbers that I've posited above are far more favorable to our side than the actual truth. Add in all the cheating the DS regularly gets away with and 70% of voters could be conservative and we'd still end up with Biden. We really need to expose the cheating and secure the borders.
I mean you’re 100% right. I’m not arguing that. Kind of has nothing to do with my point. I was making the point about interstate transplants, not illegals. Thought the 80% figure you gave is more or less right. Most of the time it’s 85%~ but can be as low as 80%.
I actually agree with your statement. I should have explained my point better.
What I meant was that I think a lot of times people will run into a liberal transplant, hear news about how their state is turning bluer, and then assume all the other transplants are liberal weenies as well.
I think that’s a BIG part of it too. The media “reality manipulation” is all too real, even in our sphere of influence. And more often than not it’s usually people who are in a career field that’s littered with liberals by nature. Like tech, or the medical field. So all the areas they frequent for work during their day to day life has them encountering these people, thus exacerbating the false perception.
I also don't like hearing that tired narrative that California can drop into the ocean because everyone here deserves it. Take Los Angeles...nobody BUT Communists run for office here. And add to that the likelihood of rigged elections going way back. So it's really crappy to actually live here, feel this way, wish there was someone to vote for, and still get swept further into Communism by the day just trusting the plan.
People who say that are kind of ignorant in all honesty. As much as we’d like to think otherwise, we NEED California, if for its climate and rural areas if nothing else. California produces something like 1/3 of all produce in the USA. So if we lost California then guess what happens to our food supply and prices?
There’s a reason they target certain states for the corruption. California is because of its agricultural and technological importance. New York for its financial importance, Georgia because of its military bases and ports. Texas because it’s the largest border state. Virginia and Maryland because of their proximity to DC.
The cheating is strategic and there’s a reason behind all of it.
To add to your point, not only are they the breadbasket of the west, but they have the PORTS. California is immensely important
Having been in the military service, I ended up spending 8 years living in Cali. I always said-- "Cali was a nice place to visit, but'ya didn't want to live there". It tends to be an impersonal and hostile place. This was during the 1970s and 1980s. After watching the housing realty prices skyrocket and some of these 'industrial-track' housing projects go up in record time, I thought it best I 'get the hell outta Dodge', as they say. After 3 broken windshields from payload trucks hauling dirt not being properly wetted down and covered, along with a stolen motorcycle, a vandalized home, and meeting a parolee violator that was 'buds' with Charles Manson in prison, I had a hankering to move back to the cold country; the so-called 'great white north'. I later found out I fit the average trend for all those that move there from outside the Cali state. It takes 8 years on average for outsiders to get the hell out of that hell-hole.
Cant say I blame you, but also proves my point I was trying to make. I just get frustrated seeing people make these hypocritical assumptions on our side that make absolutely no sense of you sit down and think about it objectively.
Here in east Tennessee I have met a few folks from Chicago and California who have moved here for the same reasons you mention. Just got tired of the liberal crap and taxes and crime, and they love it here. They vote red too.
Transplant here. Cali to the Midwest. Difference is I did it 26 years ago. Visited once 21 years ago. Never been back. Many of us from out there have been awake for a really long time, and I can tell you, it's difficult to escape that hellhole. So I'll root for anyone else who gets out, and I'll pray for their faith and wisdom. God bless.
I can see it both ways. People wanting to leave and wanting to stay and tick it out and save their home. I tend to have respect for them either way. I was just making a point that people who assume EVERYONE from California is a raging liberal is just completely false, and when referring to transplants the complete opposite is usually true most of the time. Not 100% of the time of course, but most of the time.
Yeah I hear ya. I've known some real pieces of work that came from there. I guess as a Los Angeles native, I keep my eye open these days for the disrespectful types. But honestly I've lived in a few southern and Midwestern states, and have unfortunately found that the weeds come up from all walks of life. Makes my heart big when I see anyone with wholesome values, no matter from whence they came.
Wasn't it Galt's Gulch?
Been a while since I’ve read the book or seen the movie, so that might be right.
From Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" (1957), after the ultimate protagonist, John Galt.
Can confirm. Including myself, approximately 100% of the people I know are also refugees from Commiefornia and are definitely not spreading the contagion to their new home.
Well considering the customer was buying a gun at the gun counter, I’d say it’s pretty safe to say they’re actually conservative or at the very least conservative leaning. Which again, proves my point.
Takes more than voting red to be compatible. Your attitude is the problem. Your dumb ass thinks you can move from New York to Florida and just fit right in. No changing or assimilating needed! I vote red so my lack of manners and nasty speech are fine!. So stupid. And THAT is why you get treated some sort of way. No respect for the culture or people you move yourself to.
And this has nothing to do with my point. People can still have horrible personality and vote red. That’s not my point. My point was that people assume all blue state refugees vote blue. Which they obviously don’t.
I wasn’t making a point about how douchey they are, just their voting patterns.
