That letter breaks my heart. I can’t believe this is going on in America. Well I can, but it’s just insane.
This is absolutely gut wrenching to read. I cannot imagine their suffering, nor the suffering of those who love them and feel helpless in a country where this is not supposed to happen.
Remember when we would all talk about various suspects being taken out away from US soil by clowns in America and their cohorts on 'rendition flights' for a little friendly interrogation? Well, they aren't even attempting to hide it any more.
They are now openly taking political prisoners, denying them due process, and torturing them. THIS is why I think we are on the precipice. We are at a shameful juncture in our history.

There must be something that can be done.
Justice in the US shoudn't take this long. There should either be some kind of special governing force that governs the government, or citizens should have instant referendums for any kind of government decision.
