What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
It does make me sore. It keeps me warm, but it is heavy. I like it, though.
When I go through my own sleepless pattern, I usually wake up around that time. If I sleep through it, my husband gets up to use the bathroom, and I wake up. There's something about that time!
Definitely, 2:00 is the point of no return for going back to sleep. Lol
I put a electric blanket in the bed, and heat it up before (and shut it off and unplug it before I get in... cozy:) lol
I have two bedjets. They blow warm or cool air between your sheets. Heavenly. It also takes the weight of the blankets off your toes.
That sounds great!
That sounds delightful! We may still have our blanket. I need to check for it.
Have you tried a heated throw rug instead of the weighted blanket ?
I usually use a nicely thin comforter and fold it double so it's thicker, but it was colder for a couple nights this week, our heat was turned down low, and my husband insisted on using the fan. I had to use the weighted one. I have others I use as well so I can throw them off if I get too hot.
If you are going to waken in the middle of the night, it is always around that time, seems very common. I read somewhere a long time ago, it is the hour when we should pray, in the ancient monastic times, it was called Matins. Try lighting a candle and say the Lords Prayer, and repeat the mantra, "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have Mercy on me, a sinner". Over and over, it may help. Try to resist turning on your phone, or puter or whatever screen you prefer, it will not help. 3 am is an Angelic hour.
Thank you for that! Every now and then, when I do wake up and when he is still asleep, I will get up and get on my tablet. I do try to make it a priority to pray and relax, if I'm going to be awake.
It could also be related to blood sugar dropping. If you have complex carbs if any kind prior to going to sleep, you will chew through them within about 6 hours and then BS drops. Even if you aren’t diabetic - it happens. I’d suggest trying a protein shake prior to going to sleep to see if that helps?
Well it’s settled…
Many articles on the Internet, from that web MD, etc., tell you to eat complex carbohydrates before you go to sleep because it will help you sleep.
So I agree with what you said. If it’s on the Internet nowadays, I’m pretty sure it’s the exact opposite. They claim that it promotes tryptophan, and so on and so forth… But aren’t complex carbohydrates technically really bad for your health overall?
We really shouldn’t be eating them at all, much less before you go to sleep. Of course we will have them in our lives, it’s impossible to completely eliminate them from your life, unless you’re going full keto.
But I have so many problems sleeping I’m gonna try doing a protein drink before I go to sleep to see what happens. Thanks for the tip, I actually think this might work.
I don't have a problem with it as I used to thankfully, but eating better, not working, and getting back into better shape have helped a whole lot!
I can say that since my metabolism has increased, I have to eat every few hours or I get sluggish. I simply cannot go too long without eating.
