Ya, cancelled my 21 year account two weeks ago. Interestingly, they would not let me do it online. They forced me to call and speak with a human. The human did not even try to talk me out of it. I guess he had gotten too many phone calls that day and was tired of trying to convince people. my boyfriend who is only had his account a couple of years was actually able to cancel his online. It was extremely painful at first because I had so many auto pay things tied to PayPal, and had my PayPal account set up for other things I purchase randomly online to avoid exposing my credit card on websites. I was not completely familiar with, but I’m sucking it up and finding other ways.
What makes this disgusting to me is their defense for the ridiculously high fine is because of the cost of the monitoring?! Who gave them the power to be the internet gestapo?
