Sorry that this post isn't about the election today, but I believe the country will spiral downhill relatively fast starting tomorrow and I have an important question to ask.
My wife and I have a chunk of money. We plan splitting our savings into a cash emergency fund that will be half of our money which we will have on hand and turn the rest into silver 1 oz coins.
My father in law is doing the same thing but in a different way. He has cash and silver, but all his silver is American silver eagles which cost around 39 dollars each for 1 oz coins.
He thinks all of his gold and silver will be used for bartering and so he has to buy the most "trusted" and recognizable brand. I think that some silver should be in recognizable American coins but that this bartering period where gold and silver is used will be short and after that the white hats will introduce a new digital currency backed by precious metals. So it makes sense to put most of my money in 1 oz coins that are also made in America but cost 15 dollars less and are being sold by one of the biggest gold and silver sellers in America.
My theory is based on a lot of 8kun research about the new monetary system. So he thinks I should buy only 39 dollar silver coins, I think I should buy mostly 24 dollar silver coins, since they are the same quality, purity and they are also new.
What do you guys think is the best way to go about it?
Buy the most expensive silver coins for "brand recognition" or buy much cheaper silver that is the same quality so that we have more silver to convert into the white hats new digital currency?
I always go here for questions because I trust you guys. I believe this forum is the collective consciousness of the smartest people in the world.
What about legal tender, tho?
I agree 100%. Following the rising premiums, I started buying 10 oz poured bars to save money.
Consider: The silver you accumulate may ultimately be tossed into a vat and melted. Does it matter what was stamped on the coin/round when it's to be melted?
I agree 💯
Buffaloes are good as any
Go with buffaloes… less premium for looking pretty.
Good idea
24 dollar silver coins? Do you mean 24 dollar silver rounds?
Buy the rounds. If the poop hits the fan and we go barter (I don't think we will) nobody is going to care if the rounds are "official" or not. They will only care about the silver. Just get standard rounds. Of course in a barter system I would pay slightly more for these rounds :) https://www.jmbullion.com/search/?q=qanon
I think it's good to have some eagles for the start as people will trust it most but not too long after people will accept silver by weight alone.
At these premiums, junk or war nickels would be my plays
I’m doing this same thing. 90% silver premiums are insane right now. But you can still get 35% nickels and 40% halves for next to no premiums. They still sell like mad on eBay too
Coins: https://www.bgasc.com/product/1-oz-bgasc-silver-round?SSAID=1016390
The premiums on some of the coins is pretty high. I just buy bars because if SHTF and the dollar collapses the IRS tax rules will be void.
...junk silver...
Thanks Ashlandog! You're like a celebrity here. I appreciate your patriotic work. I did want to point out that medical cannabis is made by God, has hundreds of medicines and has always been the most popular safe medicine in the world. I recommend eating it not smoking it. I would appreciate it if you stopped posting articles bashing cannabis, hemp is grown mostly organically and has saved millions of lives. Google Rick Simpson and Cannabis oil if you want more information.
I would like to expand your thinking a little on your request to ashland dog to "stop posting articles bashing cannibis". Let me tell you that I use alternative natural healing modalities exclusively, although I have never used cannabis, I have read about many of the benefits especially for children with seizure disorders, so I am not against it per se.
I believe we need to recognize that very often we have knowledge or truth that everyone else does not have. A sword is sharpened by friction and truth has the ability to stand on its' own two feet. Continue to express your truth and knowledge and let people learn (or not) at their own pace. Freedom of thought and debate is a powerful tool.
In 1975 we treated my 23 year old sister for Schizophrenia. She was in 2 mental hospitals and finally the state hospital. In my research I came across the work of Abram Hoffer and the branch of study called Orthomolecular Psychiatry. We went to one and she was put on a protocol that included high doses of B3. It was the answer she needed to maintain a normal life until she died of breast cancer in 1992. I did not need the entire psychiatric world to know or implement this treatment for me to find it and utilize it for my sister's benefit. That little ray of light or truth was enough to give us the answer we needed for my sister. I hope you understand the point I am trying to make. I personally look forward to more study on the benefits of cannabis and I will certainly look up Rick Simpson thanks to your recommendation and testimony. God bless you and yours.
...God bless you for your readership and encouraging words...
...I would be happy to post any information you can find about cannabis, just send the links to me in a message and I will see that they get posted on Unleashed...
...I am an old hippy and honestly don't have anything against weed...
...I see this current movement as a form of societal pacification and this troubles me ...
Thank you! God Bless You!
...get to work...
...where we howl 1, we howl all....
Liberty dollars were printed as currency, yet the claim is that it isn't legal tender.
It's paper dollars that aren't legal tender.....not backed by the silver that IS in coins
Everything is upside down.
Buy 1964 or earlier silver for prepping. Buy chunky bars or rounds for stacking weight to preserve your wealth.
I do both,I would not buy eagles with the current premium. I did buy a monster box of silver krugerands last year as they had the lowest premium of any national coin, and I don't like rounds.
Pre 1964 silver is getting hard to find,if that's what you want, buy it quick......
The premium above spot price really shows you what the real price of silver should be.
Except for Eagles which have an even higher premium.
Could you explain further? Are you saying the fact that silver is being sold for just 2 dollars over the official price online er oz means that the real price is basically what we are being told and American silver eagles are a ripoff?
The absolute expert on Silver is Bix Weir. Only buy physical silver period. His YouTube address is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WatH5-D67Q & website is https://www.roadtoroota.com/?awt_a=AN5B&awt_l=JhUWO&awt_m=3dLp7jFmx7AZ85B
Is his private channel worth $300?
I think you would want to diversify. Silver is silver, and paying 162.5% more for the same amount of silver isn't ideal, but U.S. coins would be harder to (or at least are generally perceived to be harder to) counterfeit, so may be trusted for more transactions, plus might be less likely to be confiscated. Get both in a ratio that reflects your personal risk calculation. You might also consider getting junk silver to enable smaller transactions; no sense trading a full ounce of silver for that loaf of bread or basket of eggs if you could trade less.
I purchase silver frequently. I initially grabbed 1 oz bars to have smaller, more easily traded amounts. Then from there I've been stacking 10oz and 1 kilo bars.
Don't care about coins or brands, just silver purity and weight. The larger size you buy, typically the better price you can get it for. 100oz in 1oz coins or bars is going to cost you more to purchase than if you buy a single 100oz bar.
Good point, my only concern is that bars are harder to barter with because they are worth more and hard to break up for smaller purchases.
i always figured if i blew through my smaller 1 oz bars in bartering i could always melt down some of the larger sizes into smaller chunks. silver is silver at the end of the day. the purchase/barter power is in the metal, not in if it comes in a coin, round, bar, chain, etc. if i melt a larger bar into 1 oz silver balls, it's still 1 oz of silver. that's just my thinking on it... to be totally honest, if things go sideways to the point that i am bartering physical silver, chances are that i'll be doing far more bartering with my stockpile of other precious metals such as brass and lead.
the main advantage to silver eagles is if you believe the nesara act willl be signed in which case they will get their fair value and you don't have to worry about fraud.
i personally have about 25% of my silver is silver eagles. the rest is rounds & 90% us coins. i mainly hold in case SHTF and i would plan to use the coins + rounds in any bartering situation while holding the eagles as more of an investment in future USA
That's fascinating! What does nesara have to do with silver eagle coins? Could you please explain further as I have yet to see any real benefit to silver eagles other than people like them.
I have a good supply of 10 ozT silver bars and another good supply of 90% Ag US coinage. The coinage came down through the families and I purchased the bars from a trusted source that I have been dealing with for decades.
Plug for ajpm.com, certainly not the least expensive but they are square traders. I have no affiliation other than as a satisfied customer. The price quoted on your invoice number is the price the product is shipped at.
I purchased pre 1964 dimes; more affordable and 90% silver. Not an expert on this. Curious as to thoughts on this.
That last point is really smart. I guess it better to buy it rounds than big bars because they would be easier to trust.
My last three buys were silver dimes,as fractional would be real nice, when silver goes to its true price.
This is good stuff for purchases, because it's legal, people recognize it. Drop it and it rings like silver -- a nice solid sound of real value.
We have some of everything. When we go to our silver dealer, he gives us the same amount regardless of what it is. The premium on eagles is higher for purchase, but I think there is value in whatever you can get your hands on right now. I wouldn’t get to hung up about anything but getting out of the central bank system.
Did you also take most of your money out of the bank? How much cash do you have if any?
The only cash we keep is paycheck to paycheck for bill paying purposes. Banks are off limits for us for any other purpose now.
I appreciate the reply!
Can't eat or drink silver and I certainly wouldnt trade food or water for it.
But if you had food and water, but were running low on ammo, would you exchange some food for the ammo?
What if the person wanting the food doesn't have any ammo, but they do have silver; and you know someone willing to sell ammo for silver - would you exchange then?
You make a good point. I try and stay stocked up so I wouldn't run into this sort of problem.
Which is fair enough, but that's you. Someone else might have lost their ammo in a boating accident :)
We arent going to a shtf scenario. This will be cleaner than that if good guys are truly in control. I prepared for this in 2010. I thought this was happening then. Now I have 13 year old freeze dried food. Hopefully God was guiding me for this time. This time around I prepared financially instead of food and supplies. I was an atheist that voted obama. God shook me awake and woke my ass up in 2009/2010. I have food, ammo, silver., dwac. I hope I made good choices. I have to say, my financial choices now are not to just survive. I feel with the stress we burden every day knowing what we know, I feel we need compensation for it. I like to believe silver, gme, dwac is our lottery tickets. Because we endured and paid attention. I really hope so. I wanna quit working in my shitty corporation and start somethimg that can help my community.
Oh man, you are singing a pretty tune, one I hope to sing myself because I've done the same.
I'm in the UK so ammo is limited to shotguns (for clay shooting) and both my wife and I have Au tucked away, along with a goodly amount of Ag.
I have two generators, just fitted a wood burner, and have books on herbal remedies etc. as well as smithing skills should it come to that, but I too am hoping we hit the jackpot and can be mortgage free.
What I'd really like to do is set up a 'small jobs' market where people with basic DIY skills can register, and old folk who struggle to manage on their own can call upon the market for day to day jobs for free. Also, if they need bigger work done they can ask for someone to sort it out so they don't get ripped off.
Fingers crossed it turns out the way we hope, but I'm preparing for a struggle as well.
Let's hope and pray.
