I think its important and relevant (to me, anyway) to realize that while this has likely been going on for a long time, it's not the ONLY thing that has been going on.
One might think about the approach and objectives of the two combatants in this war like this:
Evil, satanic, luciferianism: corruption of humanity, on all levels: as individuals, families, societies, institutions. Purpose, to gain control. corruption breeds slavery. Corrupt the human heart and mind, to focus on self, on physical gratification, to keep in ignorance about higher human virtues and destiny, etc. To block achievement of the ideal.
Good, heavenly, Christ-centered kingdomism: to enlighten and inspire, as individuals, societies, institutions, etc. Inspire to strive for greater virtue, broader understanding, increased compassion, love, appreciation for the higher human virtues, to focus on unselfish values, spiritual growth and potential with material development in balance, to raise in awareness, prepare for achievement of the ideal.
Methodology:
Evil: inspire selfishness, material greed, deceive, delude, attack aggressively first, whenever ANY advantage is perceived. Accuse the other of its own crimes as a means to gaining psychological and emotional leverage. Temporary gain, long-term disaster. Honor self.
Good: inspire unselfishness, nobility, spiritual virtues with material balance, teach, educate, illuminate, be patient, never attack but rather suffer attacks, then overcome, to claim damage and further ground. To highlight virtues, forgiveness, and take responsibility, even when unwarranted, as a means to proactively develop the good. Temporary sacrifice, long-term prosperity. Honor God (or higher virtues at least).
Compare where the leading civilizations of humanity have been over the past 2000 years. Rome was materially the greatest civilization of its time, highly developed in many, many ways, compared to other civilizations in the world: civil law, material development, organization. Yet, Rome was overwhelmed by Christian faith within 400 years. Sure, there was corruption but ALSO, the entire Western world was exposed to, and embraced, Christian virtues and ideals - love of One God, unselfishness, charity, etc.
All while evil has ever sought to corrupt, Good has meantime been working arduously always to spread the value of the truth revealed via Christ on the foundation of 2000 years of Mosaic monotheism. The middle ages, then the Renaissance, then the Reformation, then the spread and growth of the Christian cultural sphere across the entire world. Compare the potential that has been steadily opened up. (Other religious spheres, while falling short of the truth and value of Christian ideals, have nonetheless generally made supportive contributions towards awareness of, and appreciation for, higher virtues regarding human interactions.)
Consider even your average person today in the developed world. Example: crime. Crime may seem like a problem, but when in our past has crime, violence, inhumanity towards others, NEVER been a problem? Is it greater today that in the past. No. Not by a long shot. And the ONLY way evil has been able to preserve such evil has been to undermine and seek to gain control of the central levers of society and culture. Why? Because the reality of the society, culture and way of human life is that it has developed, both morally and spiritually, in gradually accelerating stages, for the past 4000+ years.
People have become better, more worthy, more aware, more inspired to create and live in freedom, benefiting others, etc. So the ONLY option evil has had has been to hijack, via deceit, via deception, via corruption of the more powerful, and then use that to attack our weak spot: our morality.
World-wide communism was the first big push on the global level. It appeared to be a juggernaut, for 70 years, then collapsed into the dust. Even grabbing the centralized control via an ideology of lies mixed with pseudo-science (Marxism) didn't last. Do we really think that the WEF push and the attempt to hijack an even higher, more centralized power position will last?
It cannot. Because the march of Good, of the ideal and vision of God, of the true heart of Humanity, is inexorable.
So, as we come to greater understanding of how evil has been working to undermine us, we should always temper that with increasing our understanding of how Good works, what good's strategy is, and how steady the march of good has been, historically, despite setbacks, despite loss, despite obstacles.
Doing so will enhance our ability to resonate with the source of goodness, and help to build natural immunity to doomerism, angst, fear, desire for revenge, and other negative and destructive responses evil seeks to foster at every turn.
We win by being good, by being like Him. By not being like It.
