u/BumbleHill is how you should tag them. Thank you for bringing the receipts.
Unless they have jumped in price again near me in the past week, we are not that high. It is likely local markets with prices that high. We were in the $3.** range for 18 eggs still (gor them for $7 plus change for 36)
I will be getting some chicks from some fam this spring for our coop. Should have learned more & done it in the fall.
Large Eggs are $3.79 regular white store brand per Dozen on the North side of Houston. $4.65 per dozen if you want better quality cage-free brown eggs.
Bring a quarter, for the cart. You'll get the quarter back, when you re-rack the cart. In my neck of the woods, people still haven't figured out that last part, yet. Or they are just lazy and/or inconsiderate.
$7.99 for the cheap ones at Walmart. Haven't been to any other stores. I've heard my Costco has been out for weeks.
We usually have our own from our chickens, but a family of coons took most of my flock : ( Trying to rebuild but man, coons are smart and man, I miss having a nice supply of eggs.
This seems to be a direct result of the Feds government regulators culling large swathes of farms during Covid. Many on this board were calling it out at the time.
I asked a few farming frens about if these diseases are real & if they really are as bad as governments claim. I ended up with mixed responses, though over half ended up saying that the diseases do exist & create problems. I should have asked if fear of federal lawsuits & forced shut down played any part in the decision to comply.
None of the farmers (all are independent operators that sell to Co-ops) have been particularly interested in government being involved in their divisions.
5.99 here and 7.39 for the 18 pack

Yeah, the eggs he bought, the Dakota, are free range soy only diet eggs, so of course they are expensive.
Chickens are a great investment, I have 5.
I'm not the one eating soy-fed free-range chickens and calling them the norm.
Yes, they are buying soy boy eggs like you buy and claiming they are normal eggs.
Last week 3.99 at Dollar General and 5 to 6 at the grocery store.

Biden-flation bites everyone hard.
On the plus side, looks like you had black eye peas for New Years day.
7.89 here. Fuel had been dropping steadily through the holidays. Our local station jumped up 8 cents the other day.
We buy jumbo eggs here in the FL panhandle. I think the last time a couple weeks ago they were $6.89/dozen.
$12 a pound for deli ham
16 for salami.
Deli turkey is $14 a pound, and we are buying cheese at Aldis now since it's like $6 cheaper. Still $8 a pound. Thanks Brandon!
