I wouldn't put it past the RINOs to threaten to stay home and/or miss the vote. They would only need 11 of them to stay home and Jeffries would win 212-211.
Before you say it would never happen... Most of those people are already corrupt to the core. You don't think there aren't 11 RINOS that would take bribes of cash/committee memberships/"other stuff" and vote for Jeffries? They would all probably switch parties as well because they would be heroes to the dems.
I'm not saying this will happen, but deep down you all know it is possible. The Republican control of the House depends on a majority of members. In fact, if just 6 of them decided to switch parties to the dems they would take over immediately. IMHO that is more likely to happen than to have 11 just stay home, but either one would doom the republicans. I'm sure they could even get a Soros or Zuckerberg or Gates to pony up 50 million or so for 6 of them to switch parties tomorrow and it would only cost them $300M. Sounds like a bargain for complete control of the government and no roadblocks for their agenda.
I see some passionate Patriots on that list.... Admittedly I don't know all of the names.. But I get the impression that McCarthy was trying to ram his nomination through like the Omnibus bill was rammed through.. If he is not in control of the horses that mitch and him traded for the Omnibus bill then perhaps they will be more effectively used by Patriots..
