The SoH decides which bills get presented on the floor, committee assignments, investigations, etc. And much, much more. I personally would rather it be an R even if it is a rino. The last round, Hakeem Jeffries had more votes than McCarthy. Is that your preference?
It's just procedural, as no one really thinks McCarthy is going to be elected Speaker. I'm sure she and several others are waiting for a viable person to be put forward.... Scalise, herself, Chip Roy, Jim Jordan....for example.
PRESIDENT Trump told everyone to vote for McCarthy and anyone who doesn't is a total fucking traitor!!! When will the Republicans finally learn that the only path to victory is to stay together? I don't especially like McCarthy but if the BOSS says vote for him then I would vote for him!!
