That's a crazy point to ponder.
fighters are never tracked using civilian systems. They absolutely have transponders and use them, but its ping and respond system where they respond only if it meets encryption, not a broadcast like non-combat planes.

No, you can turn the commercial/passenger planes off and see the mil activity. The U at the top of the screen turns passanger jets on and off.
People will post ss of 100 planes and say "ALOT OF MILITARY PLANES OMG WTF GET IN HERE".. Kinda showing people what "A lot of planes" looks like.
Its up to 580 now too like holy shit. Most Ive ever seen.
I caught the tail end of the action when it was over 400 and was surprised. I caught one going to Gitmo. Didn't know it was over 500! I told my wife it was odd that flights were grounded this morning, then the skies are filled with military planes. No coincidences.

I think avg is 300-400 from watching Monkey Werx on youtbe the past year or two. A slow day is around 100-200.

Commercial planes grounded, it sounds like they are doing the spraying.
The vast majority are training planes. Then there are the shuttles and logistic haulers. Anytime you see T-38, T-1A or Tex2, you know they are trainers.

There are always more trainers up, but even with those the numbers never reach 500+.
On a day civilian air traffic gets shut down. That is strange.
I listened to the Sit Rep Monkey Werx did this morning. He said it's likely the airline systems were hacked. There were 52 fighter re fuelers up at once, which is apparently a shit ton more than typical. He speculated South West's grounding a couple weeks ago was also a hack.
ADSB has a button at the top that turns commercial airliners on and off. This screenshot is strictly military planes. Color indicates altitude. Grey is a plane on the ground.
Turning on all aircraft shows 13,500 total aircraft above the US when you factor in the rest of the planes :)

B52 Doomsday bird is up now as well.
This B-52 is flying around like it's looking for something. It is about 0030 here in East TX and this is right on the TX/LA border. I've never noticed a B-52 doing that, and I don't expect they can look for much unless the tailgunner is looking out underneath...
Doesn't look like a holding pattern either. It isn't squawking emergency codes. Any ideas?

Wow, NJ is literally covered with planes. Can't even see the state lines. I live not far from a big airbase, but almost never hear these planes. Anyone know why that is? Sorry for the ignorant question, but I really don't know.
So I see these threads from time to time and was wondering if we're ever had any after action reports that correlate any of this with some known actions/operations against our enemies. Or it is like that list of sealed indictments that just keeps getting bigger that we assume portend some dark days for our enemies at some future point?
