1g=1000mg so if you are taking 500g that would be 500,000mg, which seems unlikely. I suspect you might be taking 500mg. I take a B supplement that is across the board 100mg. and GNC actually carries one that is 150 mg. across the board (with the exception of B-5 and B-12, which is listed in mcg.) B vitamins are pretty essential in today's world because it benefits your nervous system. It is water soluble, and therefore needs to be replenished every day. Also, stress, smoking, alcohol and many other things destroy vitamin C and B and if you take more than you need you just excrete it out. You can buy flush-free niacin if you are taking it in mega-doses. It certainly is worth a try.
Niacin flush: Niacin causes vasodilation, which means your arteries expand. When the small arterioles in your capillaries near the skin surface dilate, your blood circulation increases and your skin becomes red and warm.
NAD+: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme for reduction-oxidation reactions for energy metabolism at the cellular level. Your body can use Niacin to make NAD+.
Ok, now. What is a coenzyme for reduction-oxidation reactions for energy metabolism at the cellular level? Why do you want that? Sounds really important.
It enables the mitochondria in your cells produce ATP, which is the fundamental building block of energy for your body. You not only want this, but your body needs it to function.

I take 500 g every night. It’s a wild ride because it causes your body to flush. I mostly take it as a cheap way to raise NAD+

Don't you mean mg?
Flush?
What does that mean? "To flush" and "NAD+?"
