Mike Adams (health ranger) is going to lab test the food to see what's what. Oddly, when I posted that simple statement on the chicken forum that I use, the mods deleted it.....
I don't use that kind of feed personally, but have a friend who has decades of chicken experience who does use it, and her egg production has been very low lately, she noticed.
I read the ingredients list at my local TS a few months back... this feed now contains Maltodextrin. The FDA classes it as a "fiber" but I can tell you without Mike's assessment that this ingredient destroys gut flora - destroying the chickens (and yours) ability to absorb nutrients. I'm sure Mike will find issues like low protein content and probably high aluminum content...
the feed also contains soy meal... (disrupts endocrine system)
This is why you should always read ingredients lists - even with the food you buy for yourself. Maltodextrin has been added to many foods and supplements in the last few years. I can't find condensed milk without it. Polaner added it to their "high fiber" all fruit. It's also in most ricotta cheese and ice cream.
even google admits this about maltodextrin:
Side effects may include allergic reactions, weight gain, gas, flatulence, and bloating. Maltodextrin may also cause a rash or skin irritation, asthma, cramping, or difficulty breathing. The primary sources of maltodextrin will be corn, rice, and potato, but manufacturers may sometimes use wheat.
simple rule of thumb: if it is a highly manufactured ingredient - it is bad for you and your animals.
My chickens laying has decreased by about 80 percent. They always slow down some in the winter but pick back up when I turn on a light in their coop for a few hours extra/day. I started giving them goat feed just to see what will happen.
I have noticed the same on backyardchickens.com. You can’t talk about much of this kind of thing. And over the years, if anyone posts about homemade feed, the thread is bombarded with naysayers. Similar to discussing the clot shot on a “health” forum. I assume that most of these boards now are full of trolls and shills.
Edited to add - I have also noticed my garden has been very unproductive the past two years despite ensuring the soil is good. Idk what is going on.
Yeah … SAME HERE !!! Holy shit I thought it was just me!! Last year I had literally 10-20% of what i normally harvest in squash, zuchinni, tomatoes, and beans. I have a full acre garden.
A looooong time ago I was on NeoGaf one of the world's largest video game forums at the time and they had an off topic forum where politics were being discussed. I think I linked to the clintonbodycount and they banned me for a few months and the reason was something like, "see you after Hillary is elected president you trumptard"
It's just crazy how far idiots will go to protect their ego. Or, it's not surprising how far evil will go to protect their deception.
that's the place....i have to sit on my hands and force myself to not even look when somebody posts a topic like "LGBT chicken keepers" -- are you fooking kidding me?????

Same here on garden, this past season was my worst yet. We get chemtrailed a LOT near me, so I suspect that has a lot to do with it for me.
I watched this a few months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWkgU9mORt8

Hmmmmmm …..
Reminds me of any corrupt forum where the folks at the top have some sort of objective to curtail free thought, but only for certain taboo subjects.

Libs need to be kept away from the levers of power, because they can never seem to he able to control their urge to abuse their position.
Look at Adam Schitt
My garden yield has been down the last two years as well.
