Fwiw: not a libtard. I'm a Cali native, moved away 26 yrs ago. Then, it was a beautiful state. I miss the beaches as they were. It's not the state, it's what they've done to it.
It is the most beautiful state in the union- where else could you surf in the morning, and then ski in the afternoon?

Agreed. I grew up on the beaches. A friend of mine went back for a funeral about 5 years ago...he brought back pictures of my neighborhood. Couldn't even see the sidewalk for all the tarps, trash, and etc. He warned me never to go back. It makes my heart break, what they did to California. I can never even take my kids back home to visit.

Same. I was in LAUSD but mostly in FUSD...I hardly ever felt afraid or threatened. Sheltered bubble maybe. Regardless, we played in the yard, drank from the hose, came back when the street lights went on, and drove to the beach at midnight and never were we bothered.
Well heck I grew up in So Cal, I miss it like crazy, I miss my friends there, but my husband and I left in 2012 because the politics were shitty even then and we knew we could not afford to retire there.
