Despite how many people kept posting it, HBAL617 is not the chinese balloon on adsb tracking sites.
Do you honestly believe china, or any one, would be so daft to send a spy balloon over the United States and throw on an adsb tracker and have it broadcast its location for all to see ?

While everyone is outraged over the balloon and what the payload may carry - GEOINT collection capability, think about the drones. When you upload your cheap 80 dollar Amazon drone with the 1080p flying at 200' or DJI drone with 4k from 1000' into cloud storage, all of that goes into a KML mapping program. While satellites are great, they can only map so much at a time.
Artificial intelligence + geocoordination + hi res imagery = KML stitching. Piece by piece, China (and probably the US to a lesser extent because we don't manufacture the drones) is all being done to create a 0.5M level image of the entire US.
This data is combined with what is collected from Tik Tok, game apps, etc. to de-jitter the error rate of the data collected and make it more accurate.
In Fetterman terms, the Chinese are building a map of every square yard of America with incredible detail.
