Geez, can you imagine being in government and carrying a pedo-meter? It'd get annoying after a while.
True.

The debt clock should be in congress AND in the White House!
McCarthy should put the Debt Clock in front of him during during Joe's speech, that would be a better show than Nancy tearing up the copy of Trump's speech!!
So Republicans have to be allowed this time since they control the house?
they should project holograms of little Haley running screaming up the aisle away from PeterPedo
Please, please someone invite Trump to the State of the Union, it would Be Great if he did go to rip up a copy of Biden’s speech. It would be brilliant if Trump gave the rebuttal speech.
"An evil enemy will burn his own nation to the ground...To rule over the ashes." -- Sun Tzu
He's going to give his own rebuttal, not the "official" one by now-Governor Huckabee-Sanders.
Where was the debt clock pin while the Democrats were running the House?
As an engineer, Rep. Massie designed the pin himself just recently. He intends to wear it "forever".
Ah. But too bad he wasn't motivated to do this earlier.
It appears he fairly recently came up with the idea, and it was fairly complicated to complete: (from the aritcle)
"Despite Santos’ urging, it’s unlikely that other Republicans will start appearing in the halls of Congress with similar debt clocks. Production is simply too time consuming.
Massie, who studied electrical and mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, first got the idea around Christmas and decided to order the parts. They include an Arduino ESP32, an advanced microcontroller that he programmed to scrub current and historic debt totals posted on the U.S. Treasury’s website to approximate the real-time debt, which exceeds $31.5 trillion and has hit the country’s statutory borrowing cap."
I'd prefer a larger faced clock/watch - make a better point!
Sorta like the rappers wore in the late 80s, early 90s?
I only remember Flava Flav doing that, who else was there?
Beats me, I hated that mess. There was another one. Also some low level copycats. Their names escape me.
I had a friend that made a necklace out of one of those school hall clocks, just to mock them. Man, that was great.
This feels very much the same as Pelosi ripping up Trump's SOTU - theater to keep the masses riled up while ultimately amounting to nothing
I respectfully disagree. Representative Massie has been standing for liberty and smaller government since he arrived in Congress. It's one thing to destroy a speech from a sitting president. It's another to creatively point out how much debt the government has racked up.
It's not an indictment on his tenure, but it's a purely symbolic gesture meant to get people on our "side" to feel like we're getting a win. Just like Pelosi with the speech. Everyone in those halls knows how much debt they've accrued, anyone who actually knows who Massie is or reads these political articles also knows. Actually most people who know anything at all about politics know that we have an insane amount of debt (they just don't care). It is not raising awareness. It is a show of resistance for a dopamine hit. I'm open to being wrong
As pointed out in the article, there are several better illustrations, including AOC's Tax the Rich dress. (although her dress was a rather hypocritical choice, since she could have donated the cost for the dress to anyone who actually helps the poor instead.)
I was likening it to that because it is a symbolic gesture for a SOTU address, but yes if we are talking in terms of similarity of the actual action itself things like AOC's dress are better parallels. I don't think that's the important dimension to focus on personally but I can understand why others would
