Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an intergral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on it's evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Just wanted to share this: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1624136159424299008.html
Thank you for that share!
I needed this reminder today.
Excellent data. This is a big hint for seeing through certain lies too
This is really good.
Someone told me that when you’re picking a career, you should think about what childhood activities were your fav and focus on something related to that. Interesting article.
Agree, and I was so fortunate to be able to support myself in a lifetime. I was probably about 13 when my Gran broke her arm, she needed help with getting dressed, and washing her back, she was very modest, so it was not uncomfortable for me, all I can say is that I discovered how wonderful that made me feel, and in a moment of consciousness, many things aligned for me. I had a childhood epiphany. I sure did not get rich, but after a lifetime of caregiving and building up respect and credentials, I was able to contract for private care in my home when my son was a year old, and the contracts were generous in that my skilled care, observation, and heartfelt care and common sense paid off. I make more than a teacher, and, granted, it is 24 hours a day, but the only other thing I wanted to do as a kid was to be a homesteading woman, a mom, and to grow beautiful gardens and raise animals. God saw me, guided me, and gave me the backbone to keep plodding towards my dream. For the past 35 years, I've been living it. Praise to Jesus for showing me the way to serve him. No formal education, a high school drop out, I attended trainings and courses, and knew how to read.
I bow to you, milady, praise Him and bless your hands to your work.
I loved your comment! Have a hug and flowers, Dear LQdy!🤗💐
thank you
And a gift for writing also. Great comment. Thanks u/lovemyGod!
Thank you, I credit the love of reading and my Irish genetics for helping me turn a word or two!
That is beautiful! The world is a better place with you in it!
I agree! I’ll be 60 years old this year, and I still haven’t grown up.
I’m wide awake about what’s happening in the world, but there still a child like joy to my personality.
When I way a boy my mother asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I told her I wanted to be a sailor. She told me i will have to make my mind up, you can't do both.
Lol! What did you decide?
