Lots of radical lefty types in that part of the nation.
I imagine: A disgruntled rail worker, unionized, member of ANTIFA, gonna stick it to the man...but the idiot fucked up, and he took out the wrong train. Did a lot more damage than he was planning.
The lefty swamp already knew what really happened to the train- derailed by ANTIFA wanna-be "super soldier," and didn't want the sabotage committed by a radical ANTIFA type exposed to the public. So the lefty swamp officials arrive at the scene of the crime, and burn the evidence of a deliberate attack being the cause in a desperate attempt to hide the amateur attack. These people are stupid.
I can't confirm any of that, but that is the hunch I have about what really happened. Some extremist ANTIFA union guy (nut case + disgruntled union worker) wanted to play "Bolshevik revolutionary" and derailed a train- and he most likely bragged about doing it before, or after the attack.
Your theory assumes that a member of Antifa was at one point employed, and in a blue collar job at that. Highly unlikely, but the rest of the theory makes sense.

According to the court listener info, her passport was released to her on January 19th so I'm assuming that nut case was already out by then. Could've been her that did this.

Lack of maintenance might be able to derail the big trains you're talking about. There has been some other derailments lately. Maybe the regulation is at fault?
