Great Awakening in Church

My church has been discussing revival and Great awakenings lately. I'm just curious how many others are part of a church talking the same way?

Thank you. I recently left a church I had been a member of for decades because the pastor began asking if everyone had gotten their jabs. Began visiting current church and pastor seemed pretty based, but he has recently started up with the standard hellfire.
Keep praying on it. Maybe God wants to use u to help bring about the switch of heart. I've been slowly planting seeds with mine about everything taking place here. I know your kinda new there so it's a little rough but don't be shy to speak up. A good pastor will be receptive to any that come to him. At worst u will learn his heart. Then u must decide and pray on if God wants u to stay and help change or move somewhere else because this church isn't on it for long haul
Interesting that you say that. I’ve felt in my spirit that that was exactly why I had chosen that church. I don’t want to do it for a variety of reasons but I can’t explain why I feel that’s going to be my job here. We shall see

When u speak of being on fire. Your talking about that passion and that desire to do the Lord's will and be with him, correct. This is what I meant when I said they feel this. They wanna . If you meant something different I apologize will u please explain what you meant exactly.
I think they are just looking at previous testimony mainly. My pastor has admitted to me he knows this one will be very different than anything before. So he isn't creating like a road map or anything. Mainly just answering the many questions of others about past revivals. It's a big topic to most so I think in order to get past that with them we gotta walk through it with them.

I can only imagine it will be in light of the Asbury revival. I only heard about today in the regular service. Our pastor went to Asbury on Super Bowl Sunday and is inspired to do the same this coming Friday.
Yes the leadership is on fire. They feel something. I think it's now more about passing a clear direction and message on to others. Part of that involves looking at past experiences. What are u suggesting I should do?
We have been for some time now.
The Spirit is moving.

40 years? 1980s were the last time I felt like Satan was winning. Since about the early 2000s I noticed my friends becoming more devout and speaking of the Spirit in their lives.
Times seem rough right now, but only because we can now see clearly. In the 80s, everything seemed great but it was like whited sepulchres!
What do people in your church say about Great Awakenings? How do they characterise them?
So I have been talking with my head pastor about this. He basically says a great awakening is an awakening of spiritual consciousness in a large number of people that forever changes the landscape of humanity. He has told me he thinks this one will be vastly different thought. I have begun sharing some things about this site and movement but not fully gotten into it.
I would be most interested if you kept on talking about this.
Most of my friends and contacts are not Christian (I'm not). I'm not sure if they are yet experiencing a spiritual awakening at this point, but some of them have definitely got very up to speed on the cabal and the war that we are in so they recognise the physical aspects of the war and perceive the cabal intentions.
Personally I'm part way and not rushing things. I'm just keeping an open and listening mind. I've gone from humanist atheist to someone who sees the universe as having sentience.
The Great Awakening has aspects in different areas, political and spiritual and I think that everyone might need to appreciate aspects in areas they are less familiar with. For me that would be spiritual / religious and maybe for some in the church it might be politics, history and science.
I think the political aspect is what my pastor is truly missing. Yes u are absolutely correct it covers many many areas. I think my pastor feels something just can't yet fully identify it. I will break through to them. God will guide me. That's awesome u have begun to grow from atheism. Honestly I don't understand how people can look at things and not see some sort of sentience. I mean this in complete love btw. They are free to believe that. I will still love them. I just can't understand it on a personal level. That's awesome ur friends are learning about that stuff. Part of awakening involves coming face to face with evil. Keep that open mind friend. I know God will reveal himself to u in a mighty way. Just keep seeking truth. All roads of truth lead back to him. Im here to talk. This kind of topics really get my passion going so feel free to ask anything or speak your mind. We family fren. Love you. Maybe He is doing so, Maybe it's just different for me. I perceive a world which is sentient and deals with meaning and intention. I believe you can interact with it with prayer for example. There is no physical or philosophical mechanism that I know which accounts for that, Perhaps I have faith.
Growing up without God isn't perhaps as empty as many Christians might believe, You learn to accept the one short life you have and appreciate the beauty and wonder of the physical world. It makes all the difference whether you actively reject spirituality or whether you are neutral to it. The atheists who are in pain are the ones who cannot abide spirituality in others, not the ones who accept the world as they find it.
The thing in my life which pushed away chronic depression for me was finding the alt media (it was the subject of peak oil in around 2004). I stopped concentrating on my own problems and the toxic environment of the MSM and started to see things which had been obscured from me by the cabal that my subconscious could read just fine. Having your subconscious and your conscious mind at odds causes great distress and depression. when you start to see the real problems of the world, although they may seem terrible and maybe insurmountable, you are more aligned internally because you are no longer dealing with the lies internally. The fog rises.
Anyway, the Christian frens here have non-Christian allies. but you knew that.

Aw thank you. I'm praying for the words to fully break through to them. Right now I feel led to just build relationships and then the words will naturally come.

I used to be a part of a church decades ago that believed in Great Awakenings and experiencing the presence of God ( a "felt" faith). And lo and behold, inevitably this sort of topic correlates to a strong personality and authority figure, someone who purports to know and be able to facilitate revival. It becomes a huge mess of destroyed relationships and diminshed faith.
Revivalism is a patented American religion, imported and evolved from the frenzies and fanaticisms of late medeival and Renaissance fringe movements. It always always points back to a charismatic man claiming to be ground zero for a new work of the Spirit. Very similar to all the cult movements in that sense.
The cultural imagination is ripe for these movements because society has shifted from biblical and classical categories of self to modern ones. And one of the biggest influences on culture and society to this day is Jean Jaque Rousseau. He was the first philosopher to "psychologize" the self, so that truth became more of a matter of the inner self and feelings, rather than external reality. Mainstream Christianity was eventually influenced by this when the definition of faith and the work of the Holy Spirit became redefined as emotionally moving experiences, rather than how the bible describes it. Revivals naturally focused on stirring up the emotions of massive crowds to show as evidence of successful ministries. Much of it is really forms of mass psychology hinging upon a charismatic speaker who, consciously or unconsciously, has skills of the power of suggestion and persuasion of what large groups of people would not otherwise do or feel.
Who is Jesus Christ to you?
Hopefully he is the same to me as who he is to all who call upon his name -- The eternal Son of God who set aside his glory to become man, the form of a servant, to perfectly fulfill all terms of the Law on behalf of us Law-breakers, who suffered for his obedience to the Father to the point of a shameful death and burial under the curse of God that should have been ME... and being the only Righteous One he rose from the dead, conquered death and gave me, a poor sinner, the right and title to eternal life and eternal fellowship with the Father, through the Son, by the Spirit, because of his righteous act that reversed everything that separated us from God (Romans 5).
