If you use google maps to search for new main street, haverstraw, ny, it is easy to find where the tracks cross New Main. Go to street view and you will see that the pavement is full of scratches where other trucks have bottomed out.
I agree with OP that the truck didn't have a heavy load. I'm no expert, but that configuration of trailer wheels isn't for heavy loads imho.
Seems like some kind of design issue that needs to be addressed to counteract the jack stand issue. I mean, that sounds like it would be a very costly and recurring issue, if so, wouldn't it?
I see what you mean. That depression on the other side of the track would doom a low-hanging, long-length semi or other truck. You'd think they'd put a caution sign ahead of it to warn drivers.
True. My husband deals with the railroad folks all day every day. They're a vindictive bunch he says, and when his plant complains about something or other then they retaliate by parking a few cars where it blocks hubbie's company trucks from coming in or out to load. Or leave trash and messes that we have to clean up. He says there are derailments daily.
You guys remember that dump truck that got caught on train tracks last year??? There was something very fishy about it. Unfortunately it’s been so long that I’ve memory-holed it.
It took place in a town that shared the same name as another town Trump was rallying at pre-midterms…
something doesnt sit right with me,.was this really just another train, truck reilway crash.. or something more,,.what was the train carrying,..was this actually a planned derailment gone wrong..!?..and if you look at the power pole with the box on it you see a white vehicle with markings that looks pretty much like a Police Cruiser, did it just happen to be there .and then anorther vehicle makes a kinda hurried turn right across the road,.to head back in the other direction,? .and who took the video it was like they were already filmimg the crossing before the Train even appeared? .so much shit going on these days maybe its just me,..
The truck got high sided on the hump because of the landing gear on the trailer. It's nothing new, and this one was not carrying anything to worry about. Let's not get distracted with every little train mishap.
I disagree. Ignoring the small things is a mistake. Watching and noting all of these is important in my opinion because suddenly, the 'little mishaps', along with even 'bigger mishaps' has brought us to the toxic disaster that is the Palestine, Ohio derailment.
Widening out to a bigger picture, when you consider the unusual amount of food warehouse fires, chicken laying farm fires, animal culling, etc., and increased train derailments of food, fuel, and fertilizer shipments, a new picture emerges.
Increased costs for EVERYTHING, shortages in household goods, food items and mechanical parts, along with increased insurance claims and life insurance claims (COVID & VAXX-related) and the associated financial losses, business closures, job losses, chaos and demoralization, there is something very malignant afoot.
I see trucks stuck like that sometimes. The jack stands on the trailer get stuck on a hump and the truck can't move.

Just another truck vs train crash. Happens a lot. Looks like that crossing isn't suited for semis though. Crossing is elevated and makes wonky angle.

With what happened in Ohio, I can guarantee we're going to see every train vs car or truck crash on MSM for quite a while.

Someone jog my memory please!

It does that because the train and its inertia are easily 500 times heavier than the truck.
yeah...dispatch
about that drop....
The train always wins.
Millican Oil Drop Experiment...one drop creates more waves...this is what you are eluding too...
Great Post!!!

I will not be ignoring any of it.
Was the truck carrying hazardous chemicals? This legit happens sometimes.
He was carrying a massively expensive payload…. Lumber.
Thank god it wasn’t eggs
