Sorry... just had to get that off my chest. FJB and his crew have so many ways of irritating the shit out of me.
I am tempted to think it is some sort of comms at this point. EPA guy used it in OH just now... out of an abundance of caution, stay out of the streams, or something like that.
Anyway, dumbest phrase... evah
Not sure who started it, but I remember Fauci used "abundance of caution" and "flatten the curve" more than I care to remember
Yeah, I wanted to slap that fucker each time he said it.
I prefer a smattering of caution.
"Stay healthy"
"New normal".
Hmmmmm....
"Drive careful"
I think I know who you are in real life, lol.
Anyway, take this: "will you borrow me that..."
(Sits back with smug look, awaiting a reply which cannot possibly top the inbred "borrow me" phrase)
Dang... that was a legitimate method of procrastination. Thanks for the laughs. Back to work!
Yo… make sure you stay laser focused up in here…
I see what you did there. Nice.
Same faggots that started using “problematic” in every sentence
It's a way of saying "this could be a real disaster" without admitting it. They are trying to create the impression that only because they care so much, they will be super cautious and do something even though things are perfectly fine, nothing to see here, cough cough.
I first remember it from Hillary. Maybe it was in the 90's when she was running the Clinton Care parade.
"Abundance of caution" is an old establishment buzz word phrase they use when trying to cover their asses, or push for more tyranny. Long before circle back Ginger. But you are correct in that every time you hear that phase, it is always associated with establishment bullshit.
Absolutely - throw in the can along with "stay safe", "podding" and all the other shite woke phrases.
What's "podding"? Haven't heard that, yet.
Staying with your "pod". The people you were "safe" with during the pandemic. Bleh
Aha. Thanks. I don't think I had a pod. Sort of a loner to begin with.
I'd like to ask how one goes about measuring an abundance of caution.
As for drive safe...I use that one. My kids think they're invincible.
LOL... don't we all?
It should be "drive safely". I think. But I'm not a true grammarian. My real beef is that I always drive safely, and so when my Dad says it to me, it sort of implies that he thinks I do not.
Well I legitimately do not think my grown-ass children drive safely. Or my siblings. Or my mother. So I tell them to drive safely. And let me know when they get where they're going. And then I pray the whole time. Lol. You know what you know.
Truth... you know what you know. And I pray like that, too!
Here's a good one for anyone up there answering questions......'I would refer you to"..... Then what the hell are you there for?
At the very least they need to state, "I don't know" or "I don't have the authority to answer that" or some preface before a referral is made.
It’s “top of mind” for a most hated phrase It’s a form of neurolinguistic programming. Abundance of caution means “planning to do something stupid but don’t question it because muh caution”
hahahahahaha... I love that... "muh caution"
"abundance of caution"
I take that to mean an unwarranted level of caution with concomitant loss of freedom.
