Anyone who exchanges real assets for Federal Reserve notes is getting the worst end of the deal. If you exchanged Federal Reserve notes for real assets on the other hand, you made out like a bandit, no matter what you paid.
I suggest you ignore the "exchange rate" unless you have some Federal Reserve notes you want to get rid of. It is only in watching their little fraudulent numbers that you feel like you have "lost." That is a scam, designed specifically to make you feel that way. Don't fall for it.
Aww, that’s too bad. I guess we need to foreclose, fire all employees, sell the buildings, terminate the dealings with them, and start issuing green backs (like Lincoln did).
Then we open the books, find the owners, and hold the owners liable for the US debt, plus treble the US debt for punitive measures, regardless of country of residence.
The MIC and deep state will not financially recover from this. Since it would be exposed how many wars were started and continued fighting, just for profits, the entire network of people would be exposed. This would cause televised tribunals world-wide.
A new era of peace would allow nations to share all technologies that were previously considered under national security.
All of these consequences would demonstrate how little is needed to manage and legislate, so the government would shrink to a fraction of the current size. The Federal laws would be simplified to less than 40 pages, and the elimination of almost all Departments. Term limits would be imposed at all levels, including judges. Lobbying outlawed. The bulk of the laws would be simplified to; harm none, do what you will.
Legislative representation would simply follow the will of the people’s wishes via transparent and auditable voting.
Most states and countries would follow the newly streamlined US government. Lawyers and taxes would no longer be needed, except in few cases.
Most of US national parks would be open for lease and/or sale, similar to homesteading of the past.
Farms would no longer have subsidies nor do many regulations. The food processing would gravitate towards more local production and processing, requiring fewer chemicals.
Hospitals and clinics would be needed significantly less, as food would become healthier. Doctors would be empowered to make decisions again, and nurses would ensure patients get the care they need, holding doctors accountable.
Since concealed and open carry would be encouraged and promoted, the communities would turn extremely peaceful and prosperous. Anyone breaking the few laws, would be tried and quickly punished. Target shooting of weapons would be highly competitive and held in high regard.
Large corporations would find they could often no longer compete with smaller, more nimble small companies. Thus, you would see very few large corporations as time progressed.
And each family could live their lives pursuing life, liberty and happiness. In other words, to be left damn alone.
Imagine if the FED actually got audited, how much worse it would be.
Q: Gold will destroy FED.
FED: That's ok, we can do it ourselves.
Unrealized loss you say.....looks like they are in the same shape as the rest of the fake $ institutions.
Or whoever bought DWAC at $70.
Unless you have sold, you haven't lost anything.

Buy and Hold. That is all you need to do.
Didn't some talking head claim just yesterday there is infinite cash at the federal reserve?
Are they limited some how as to how much money they can print?
My understanding is that it is mostly dependant upon our status as the world's reserve currency or petro dollar.
Once we no longer hold either status, the printers can no longer print indefinitely.
Petro dollar - No country would need to hold dollars to buy oil from the Saudis or most oil producing countries.
Reserve currency - trading between countries usually happen in $$ due to it's stability.
If we lost that status, we would lose the exorbitant privilege that goes will it and move beyond hyperinflation and into Weimar republic territory.
Too many dollars chasing too few goods.
This brings American hegemony, BRICS, and geopolitics into focus and on a collision course.
Edited for clarification.
Interesting comments of permanence/ delusion in the thread.... trust me!

Didn't Trump put all of the currency and banking under Dept of Treasury in 2018? I think he did. He made them a toothless bear back in 2018. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/20/trump-poised-to-take-control-of-the-federal-reserve.html
March of 2020.
Close it down.
The plan is rolling along on schedule and under budget.😁
Ah, but they can print to infinity--they said so. 🤣🤣
They need infinite paper and ink to print to infinity.
Nope. Most "money" is just ones and zeroes in a computer somewhere.
Yes, of course. But that won't stop numbnuts from believing it.
