I remember being taught in grade school back in the 1970s about historical “pitchforks and torches” and something about a “town square” in the 1700/1800s... we need to brush up on some history and maybe create our own... instead of waiting for “the military” to come and save us.
*just got home from work and just poured a rum and Dr Pepper so pardon my... “slightly buzzed” post.
....if anything historic had happened in that moment, ok. As it stands you can say you were in nancy pelosi's photo op, yippee. Trump shoulda crossed the Rubicon
I was in the Ellipse, about 30 yards from the stage, freezing my ass off. It took 3.5 hours standing in line to finally get in, but it was a good time talking to people around me, a lot of who had traveled from other countries to be there.
I've been to several rallies, so I know the Secret Service do an incredible job of searching people coming in, but this one was crazy thorough... the reason why the line took 3.5 hours despite having at least a dozen entrance stalls. Guy ahead of me had a digital camera and SS had him snap a photo, and then they checked the screen to view the photo, to assure that it was a functioning camera, and not, I suppose, gutted out to hide explosive or weapon inside. An old guy had a cane, a metal one that screwed apart into a couple sections, they took it apart and used a flashlight to inspect inside. I saw a woman's large wallet that had a bunch of clutter in it, and they went through each individual piece of paper in it. Just a few things I observed in my immediate area.
I always remind people when they bring it up that the entire point of the protest was to have the election fraud evidence heard during an event they would HAVE to cover, after months of the media denying there was any evidence at all.
Not only was it NOT in our best interest to storm the capital and shut the whole thing down, it was entirely antithetical to the protest.
Storming the capital, instead, got all discussion shut down everywhere for over 6 months. You do the math which side gained the most from this, and work from there.
Good analysis. Between COVID and Jan 6 they got the perfect storm of excuses for censorship. If there was no plan, it would have been a real victory for them but we all know Q and Trump are 5 steps ahead
... And if that had been a real insurrection, we'd still be there fuckers....such an insult....like the most armed population in the history of the world wouldn't take their weapons to an insurrection? STFU.
They want anarchy. They have No idea what will happen If they get it.

I was all the way back there by the Washington monument and there were still people behind me.
me too

It was windy and cold and I too was at the monument for the speech.
You must be from the south. Lol it wasn't that cold, but it was windy as hell.
Cold and windy

I was about 70 yards behind you. Cold day indeed.
Such a good meme.

People brought their infants to overthrow the government.
This is the same for the entire world. They are getting closer to finding out.
THIS. My thought from day 1.... as soon as I heard them use the term insurrection. I knew it was a set up.
So was it the 5th or 6th? Literally nothing from the 5th has even mentioned.
If Q wasn't a thing, would we have reached that point already? Sometimes I wonder what we would have done

Only one question is needed to kill this dumb narrative: "if it was a violent insurrection and overthrowing of the government, how did they all fail?"
That's when they fall back to the: "those incompetent and simultaneously evil mastermind MAGAists!"
Agree no armed Americans fired a shot. Only a scared " officer"
scared of an unarmed woman.
