And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying — Ezekiel 12:8
It seems that one of the things my son loves to do is to scare me first thing in the morning. On the weekends, he loves to wake up before me, sneak into our bedroom, and put his face right down in front of mine. There are many times that he doesn’t say a word. He just simply breathes on you. It can be rather unsettling to be dead asleep and wake up with someone’s face in front of yours.
There are many times that he will say something when he gets close to you, however. It was just a few weeks ago that he did such a thing. As he approached me, he said daddy, and then he proceeded to ask if I was awake. He wanted to ask a question about his day and wanted to know if I was going to listen.
Once I got past being startled, I answered his question. It was not too long after that I was reading scripture and came across this verse in Ezekiel. I was reminded of my son and his words that morning as he approached my side of the bed.
We each have so many things that we face in life. Each day is filled with good circumstances, bad situations, and many challenges. With the fast pace of life, it can be easy to get up and start our day without talking to our Heavenly Father. We don’t have to question if God is listening. He is always there!
Instead of just going about our day, we should start each morning in conversation with God. We should ask Him for guidance and direction and thank Him for grace and mercy. Each morning that we are blessed with, we should start it off with our Heavenly Father!

This is something I've been working hard at...an adulthood of coffee and cigarettes first thing in the morning is a hard habit to break, but one that I wlll...
...let," thank you God" be your first thought upon awakening....
Maybe praying while having your coffee and cigarettes is the first step? Prayer doesnt always have to be eyes closed on your knees (although those prayers are good too!)
I needed to hear this. Thank you and God bless you.
...God lets us know he wants to be involved in our lives....
May God bless your walk Pilgrim...
AGREED
I’ve been doing this before I rise out of bed in the morning for the last week or more. I also talk to God at night right before I fall asleep. Throughout the day we pray before we eat, leave the house, at 11am and 5 pm with Slechta and the Prayer Garden. I feel like this is what we are meant to do. Connect with our Creator. We are so blessed to be able to even approach God. We have that right because of Jesus’ atoning blood on the cross- He died for ALL of us.
Amen and AMEN!!!

First thing I do is I thank Him for another day, go make coffee and when it is done, I have a cup after praying and blessing Him. Asking Him to bless the food we eat this day and to help me be a light to whomever I meet. Then I open up E-Sword---free Bible for your computer---and I read at least 3 chapters every morning. I am now in 2nd Cor. 6---I read through the Bible at least once a year and sometimes twice. I don't understand everything but if you haven't read it, how is the Holy Spirit going to bring it to remembrance? Understanding comes when God is ready to reveal it to you. Amen
...you are on a firm foundation....
God bless you for your testimony.

I have a forty-minute commute to work in the mornings. I use part of this time to pray. It starts my day off right and makes me feel calmer as I get ready to face my job, especially on days I don't want to deal with people. It totally changes my attitude most days.
May God bless you with daily traveling mercies....
When I was working (as a nurse), I'd say a prayer each morning and ask God's help in dealing with my patients and co-workers in a way that would make their day brighter as well. I still pray, but it's a bit more non-specific now. God knows our hearts.
Yes, I do the same. I'm a teacher, and there are days when I get up with horrible anxiety about what I'll be facing during the day from kids, parents, etc. Praying always makes it better, though. I ask God to give me patience and compassion, and He helps me. I think you're right, though. We probably don't have to say much of anything. God knows what we need every day. We just have to be with Him.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these (physical needs) shall be added unto you.”
I read this is as: “But seek to establish a connection with God first thing every morning and He shall reveal unto you all things that you should to do to be happy and successful in this life.”
Amen!!!
