I gave up almost all sugar some decade ago - that alone is pretty much sufficient. Although I would urge the use of butter for most cooking etc rather than oils, which I also do. I am a very healthy weight and have few illnesses.
Likewise but I cook with olive oil or coconut oil as butter is so expensive here. But I do eat butter on homemade spelt bread. Tiny amounts of bread, I hasten to add.
Personally, I have had trouble with flour, evidently. Read somewhere that sour dough had less gluten so I have tried it and it doesn't make me sick like white bread, rolls, buns, etc.
Yeah, if you want to go to the next level after sugars, its to cut out all seed oils and most vegetable oils (except olive, coconut and peanut oil, which seem to be okay). Use animal fats and actual butter (not those kind that spreads so smoothly).
Other good things to do - use pink salt or black salt instead of table salt (throw away the table salt, its poison), eat a lot of turmeric (in cooking), garlic (cooked is good, but raw is better), etc.
But for most people, just giving up soft drinks and processed food alone can give good results to begin with.
