Didn't Ukraine just recently announce that they were out of ammunition too?
I do agree with you, it seems as if Putin is just mocking the DS so to push them further into their agenda, not allowing them to backtrack. He's also been calling it how it is, even the corruption in the US gov't. It's been fun to watch.
Never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake. NATO wasting all of its stockpiles on a conflict which won't see Russia significantly weakened is a longer-term win for Russia in the war of attrition. The goal was to turn Ukraine into a Afghanistan-like quagmire for Russia but it looks like they uno-reversed the West.
Maybe this is how a disclosure happens? Militaries are depleted all over then another aggression happens. Secret space program drops in with TR3Bs and what not showing all the hidden military assets. Not an alien thing, but dropping where the trillions went building exotic toys in dark projects
Ukraine isn't receiving a lot of newer supplies. All they are receiving are older Cold War stockpiles form NATO and older weapon systems.. The most reliable weapons for Ukraine armed forces has been Soviet era weapons as well. The Ukrainians are even repurposing old WW2 era ant air into artillery.
The Russians are using Soviet era munitions which isn't inferior when talking about artillery warfare.
A tool is a tool so don't think about what is "inferior" or superior. The wonder weapons that Ukraine is obtaining isn't going to make a lick of a difference to change things.

Interesting, I did not know that. When did that happen?

The Russians are using old Soviet stockpiles so no they are not running out of ammo any time soon.
If it was that dire for the RF they would have made an attack on Moldova to obtain more Soviet era stockpiles.

Perhaps, you would be more comfortable over at Reddit.
