I have never managed to approach that figure. Even shopping at Sam's Club where the temptation is great wouldn't do it. And the Sam's is in Chesapeake, VA.
Also, I never buy steaks or other expensive cuts of beef, unless they are on "manager special" for half price or better. A large number of the items I buy have to be on sale for me to buy them. Then I buy enough to last until the next sale. You can save a ton that way.
Add a few ingredients of course. Yesterday, I cooked a pot of goulash. It's simple, with just browned hamburger, diced onion, diced tomatoes, and partially cooked macaroni. Simmer until the macaroni is done. Salt to taste. Macaroni is cheap. Canned tomatoes are cheap at Aldi, or you can grow your own and can them yourself. Onions are very reasonable, or you can grow your own, braid them, and hang them up in a dark, dry place. In a pinch, you can dig up wild onions from the yard, but they are stronger than regular onions, so don't use as much.
I made a lot, so I had a bowl of leftover goulash for supper tonight, as well as a Mountain Dew. I put a cold one in the freezer for a while so that it would be icy.
That's something I don't need. Also cigarettes. I tasted both when I was younger and decided they were both a horrible waste of money. And this is when cigarettes were 25 cents a pack.
Psht! Didn’t she realize BLM has been milked dry? It’s the trans people time to shine, baby! Kek!

How did she get $1,000 in groceries? I can pile a cart high for $200 or a bit more, if I got meat.
I'm glad we don't have a Target in my town.

80% ground beef is under $5. Six-packs of Mountain Dew 16 oz are usually on sale for $3 to $4. Some soft drinks are on sale every single week.
