People do that gesture with no thought whatsoever about it being satanic, sometimes. Kids, adults at sporting events, etc. But most people fill me with suspicion now.
Yep, my Dad who is about as anti Masonic as it's possible to be sometimes does the triangle thing with his hands. It's just a gesture he makes. My grandchildren crack up at me because occasionally, I'll point to something using my middle finger. I'm not flipping them off - it's just the finger that pops up.

If your argument is that he did it unintentionally, then it can just as well be argued that other famous people who did the devil's horn in public did so unintentionally.
