Well. It certainly raises some questions. Actually a lot of questions.
What I know of Mainstream Christian belief seemingly indicates the Angels kept a certain distance between themselves and humanity after Satan and his guys were cast down. Only really interacting when explicitly commanded and departing forthwith when said duty was done and not interacting with humans beyond what was strictly necessary to fulfill their duties.
Enoch would indicate. The Angels at least in the form of the Watchers were extremely active in human lives and affairs for a time in an advisory role, and At least some of them found Human Women attractive and that they are capable of Sexual Reproduction. Both of which would be curious traits for them when various conventional beliefs would either dictate they are beyond such base impulses and activities or not capable of them altogether.
I have a hard time believing that the DNA of Angels and men could create a different "kind" of creature.
Like I posted a few minutes ago. I think the Sons of God were the children/ grandchildren of Adam and Eve before the fall.
The Biblical text is pretty clear that Adam and Eve’s children were conceived after the fall.
The birth of Cain and Abel occurred after the Fall of Man, and after they were banished from the Garden which is described in Genesis 3. Genesis 4 is where it says, "And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. And she again bare his brother Abel." Therefore, the birth of their two sons, Cain and Abel, occurred after they had left the Garden of Eden and were living outside of it.
In Genesis 5:4, after the birth of Seth, the Bible says, "After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters."
There really is nothing in the bible to say that all of Adam and Eve's children came after the fall.
We have to remember that the entire bible is telling the story that leads to Jesus. It is following his family line.
Of course there are other family lines talked about in the bible but the story is always back to Jesus.
Any sons and daughters born before the fall would not have been part of Jesus's family line. So the bible story is not focused on them
.
Also Cain went out and found a wife. That would not have been possible unless Adam and Eve had other children before he killed Abel.
Adam and Eve could have been in the garden for a thousand years before the fall. The bible is silent on that.
Of course this is all guesswork on my part.
I just don't see any other place in the bible where it suggests that angels can get women pregnant.
When God created everything He said let them produce after their kind.
Cat's produce cats, dog's produce dogs and so on.
Angels and man are two different kinds. There is nothing in the bible to even suggest that angels reproduce other angels. Never mind human hybrids.
I just don't see any other place in the bible where it suggests that angels can get women pregnant.
It is true that the Bible does not explicitly state that angels can get women pregnant. However, some Christians interpret certain passages in the Bible as suggesting that angels have the ability to take on physical form and interact with human beings in various ways.
For example, Hebrews 13:2, states, "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." This suggests that angels can take on human form and interact with people in a way that is not immediately recognizable.
The story of the angels who went to Sodom in Genesis 19 is another example of angels interacting with humans in physical form. In this story, two angels came to the city of Sodom and were greeted by Lot, who showed them hospitality and offered them a place to stay for the night.
Later in the story, the men of Sodom surrounded Lot's house and demanded that he bring out the angels so that they could have sexual relations with them. This suggests that the men of Sodom believed the angels to be physical beings who were capable of sexual activity.
While these interpretations are not universally accepted among Christians, they do provide some basis for the idea that angels can interact with humans in various ways, including taking on physical form and possibly even having offspring with them.
Yes, I completely agree that Angels and even God can take on human forms.
I understand what you are saying that pretty much anything is possible.
I am just trying to understand concepts without violating scripture.
God created everything. He said let each multiply according to its kind. Gen 1:20
That is my sticking point.
Nowhere in the world do we see different "kinds" producing offspring. That is a big problem for the theory of evolution.
All evidence that is not empirical evidence is just theatrical evidence.
Theatrical evidence uses various starting points to reach a conclusion.
Evolution assumes there is no God as a starting point.
Creation assumes there is a God as a starting point.
Evolution has a "tree" of life where all "kinds" came from.
The Bible states that kinds were created by God, and they are different from each other.
There is no empirical evidence showing kinds reproducing outside of their kind. Empirical evidence points to creation not evolution.
Dogs produce dogs, cats produce cats and so on. Of course, there are many varieties within those kinds.
If we follow the logic that kinds can only produce within its kind, we have a problem with Angels and humans. Unless we assume that Angels and humans are different species within the same kind.
I don't mean to piss people off here.
I just believe the bible is the Word of God. So, when presented with something that challenges my understanding, I question both my understanding and the new challenge.
BTW. I get that certain words within the bible translations may not be completely accurate and there can be misunderstandings.
There is no misunderstanding concerning what "kinds" means.
Excellent points! And I enjoy a healthy dose of “spritual speculation” every now and then, so don’t worry about offending me. Plus I’ve got thick skin and a short term memory!
If we assume this interpretation (that sons of God is referring to fallen angels), one possible explanation for how this could occur is that the angels took on physical bodies or forms in order to have sexual relations with human women.
In some Jewish and Christian traditions, there is a concept known as "angelic incarnation," which suggests that angels are able to take on human form or bodies. This idea is based on certain passages in the Hebrew Bible and New Testament where angels appear in human-like form and interact with humans.
For example, as I mentioned earlier, in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19, two angels appear in human form and visit Lot in order to warn him about the impending destruction of the cities. The men of Sodom DEF thought the “angels” were capable of sexual interaction, for they demanded to sleep with them. Similarly, in the New Testament, the angel Gabriel appears to Mary in the form of a man to announce that she will give birth to Jesus.
If we accept the idea of angelic incarnation, then it is possible that the fallen angels in Genesis 6 took on human form in order to have sexual relations with human women and produce offspring.
And don’t over look Hebrews 13:2 where it states, "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." This suggests that angels can take on human form and interact with people in a way that we don’t even know that they’re not human.
🤷♂️
However they were able to do it, they were able to produce giant offspring.
Also Cain went out and found a wife. That would not have been possible unless Adam and Eve had other children before he killed Abel.
You are correct in that the Bible mentions Cain finding a wife after he was banished from the presence of the Lord (Genesis 4:16-17). Some Christians interpret this as evidence that Adam and Eve had other children besides Cain, Abel, and Seth, who are specifically named in the Bible.
However, it is also possible that Cain's wife was a descendant of Adam and Eve, who were the first human beings created by God. The Bible does not provide a clear explanation of where Cain's wife came from, but it is not necessarily an indication that Adam and Eve had other children before Cain.
I believe that’s the belief of mainstream Christianity. The sons of God we’re the children of Adam and Eve and subsequently the line of Seth and the sons of men were the descendants of Cain.
The term "sons of God" is used in the Bible to refer to various beings, including angels. Here are some references where the term "sons of God" is understood by some scholars and theologians to refer to angels:
Job 1:6 and 2:1: "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them." In these verses, the "sons of God" are understood by some to refer to angels who are presenting themselves before God.
Job 38:4-7: "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? ... when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?" In this passage, "morning stars" and "sons of God" are understood by some to refer to angels who were present at the creation of the world.
Psalm 29:1: "Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength." The phrase "heavenly beings" in this verse is often translated as "sons of God" and is understood by some to refer to angels.
Daniel 3:25: "He replied, 'But I see four men unbound, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the fourth has the appearance of a god.'" In this passage, the "fourth man" is understood by some to be an angel or a manifestation of God, which would make him a "son of God."
Luke 20:34-36: "Jesus said to them, 'Those who belong to this age marry and are given in marriage; but those who are considered worthy of a place in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. Indeed they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.'" In this passage, Jesus refers to angels as "children of God."
This...also read any of the 66 Books and compare any of them to an "other" book. They do NOT read the same way....It's apparent they had a different author.
If we put aside the idea that angels had relations with women who else could be the Sons of God in Geneses chapter 6?
I thought that maybe Adam And Eve had many children before they ate from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. After all one of the results from eating from that tree was an increase in pain during childbirth.
An increase compared to what if there were no children before?
The children born before the fall would have been sinless still. Those could easily have been the men of God that chapter 6 refers to.
Their seed would have been different then the corrupt seed of fallen man.
Well. It certainly raises some questions. Actually a lot of questions.

Nevermind.
It's not in the Bible, but Jude did quote Enoch in his epistle and called Enoch a prophet.
The “other books” you speak of were not considered authoritative and they differed greatly in their theology and doctrines.
They do provide some interesting backstory to some biblical stories (like Gen 6 “sons of God” and the Nephilim), none the less.

only half way through, but this is a good video, thanks. been having a hard time understanding watchers, etc; but this explains it well.
3 years a fool. Here anyway.
