Alright, Frogs. I was delighted and a bit surprised by the positive response to my thread last night. With the mod’s indulgence, I’d like to make this a daily thread to help inform and encourage each other to do and be our healthy best.
Today I am going to do these things for my physical health;
I’m going to walk 20 minutes
Do a leg work out consisting of leg presses and squats
Do extensive stretching (I want to become as limber as I can.)
Spend some time outside in the sun and fresh air.
On the menu;
Dinner will be chicken stir fry
So, what are you going to do today to be your healthy best?

It's June 1s. Let’s plan to discuss our progress in six months, on December 1st.
WWG1WGA toward our best and healthiest selves.
I exercise 5 /6 days. Bike ride/ walk/ weight training. I lost 18 pounds 3 years ago and have kept off. One thing I learned a bad diet will not overcome even large amounts of exercise. Your diet is #1. I logged every bit of food I ate for over a year. Was tedious but helped me learn what worked. I learned that sugar causes inflammation ( arthritis ) by how it made me feel the day after. Mind/Body work together. Jesus is always my go to for everything in life. He's been my foundation and most important for my well-being. Also you can't eat your emotions because that causes weight and stress. It's a everyday journey and when you fall off start over. It took months of discipline for my body to respond. This is a great thread for us to encourage each other.
Thanks. I'm glad things are going better for you. It's encouraging to read about other people's journeys and what worked or didn't work for them. I'm glad you lean on Jesus. I hope you'll stick around and post in the daily threads.
Nice idea to create this thread!
Fasting daily 16 to 18 hours
Modified keto/cutting carbs
Keep coffee to 1 cup daily
Thanks! Were you able to do that much fasting right from the start or did you work your way up to that many hours? And does coffee keep you awake or make you jittery - is that why you limit it to 1 cup?
Took a couple of weeks to get the fasting up to about 12 - 14 hours and an additional few weeks to go longer. One to two cups of coffee a day is the balance between appetite suppression/alertness and jitteriness.
I didn't know that about coffee. Great info. Thanks.
I started intermittent fasting mixed with keto back around the beginning of April and lost 20 lbs.
Starting off, I just quit snacking and limited myself to 3 meals/day. Then when I was ready to cut out breakfast for the ~18 hour fast, I'd stir some butter into my coffee to hold me until lunch. Within about 3-4 weeks, I was fasting 19-20 hours/day, with the occasional one meal/day mixed in 1-2 days/week.
Lunch usually consists of 3-4 eggs with some steamed broccoli or other veggies, along with some feta cheese and olive oil. Supper with my wife would just be whatever best choice I could make with what or where she wants to eat. Cutting out most of the carbs in my diet really gave me a lot more energy.
Now, I just have to start doing some sort of exercise, more than like starting with walking. I used to love the yoga portion of the P90X workout, as that was the one workout that I would sweat the most on, so I may try to get back into yoga. It's a lot harder than most people think.
Keep all negative thoughts to a minimum.
Breathe deep breaths of love and enthusiasm.
Stretch. 😃😃😃😃
Yes, I'm getting into stretching in a big way. Thanks! If you've got any advice on how to keep the negative thoughts at bay, let us know.
I’ve started shopping at local farmers market for veggies, eating grass fed beef from a local farmer, fish from locals, and but honey in my coffee instead of sugar. One of my favorite new addition is micro greens. I feel amazing!
Wonderful! Where do you get your microgreens?
Local farmers market but I’ve grown them as well. They take about a week and are very easy to grow
Good to know you can grow them easily. But, lol, would you mind explaining more about what exactly microgreens are?
They are basically the very beginning of a plant (beets, carrots, leeks, etc) but when you consume them at the baby stage (Microgreen) they contain a lot more nutritional value. So you eat the greens that are rich in whatever vitamin you need.

Alright, cool. Thanks.
I'm going to go to the park with my son. He can play and I'll walk the track. Having steak burritos for dinner. For the most part, I've cut out store bought refined desserts. Need to make use of my ice cream maker.
Sounds good. I presume you can see him from the track? Anything home-made is just better, isn't it?
"Lumbrokinase is a highly effective antithrombotic agent that reduces blood viscosity and platelet aggregation while also degrading fibrin." Taken from Dr. Mercola's substack. I've been getting it from him for just over a year.

Thank you gobby. This is great.
Anyone with tips for arthritis relief? Today I will spend time outside. Also, read for fun again.
Also good fats.
Thank you sounds good.
I have found my diet especially sugar in all forms really gives arthritis pain the next day. I have pain everyday in joints. I'm currently going to try hi protein more veg's/fruit for this month and see how my body responds.
Yes, cutting out carbs and other sugars, along with increasing good fat intake will reduce and prevent inflammation throughout the body. Sugars also inflame the linings of the blood vessels, giving bad cholesterol places to deposit themselves and build up.
Eggs are truly a miracle food. 3-4 eggs daily will result in many physiological improvements.
Oh, I love to read and long for more time to do it. I'll post your question about arthritis relief in tomorrows daily thread op!
N-A-C
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is an FDA-approved drug that comes from the amino acid L-cysteine. It is an antioxidant that may play a role in preventing cancer and is used by healthcare providers to treat acetaminophen poisoning.1 NAC is a supplement form of cysteine that has many health benefits, including replenishing antioxidants and nourishing the brain.2 It is a precursor of L-cysteine that results in glutathione elevation biosynthesis and acts directly as a scavenger of free radicals, especially oxygen radicals.0 Possible uses of NAC include improving athletic performance, managing blood sugar levels, and treating chronic lung problems.
Thank you. Great info. I know a number of people take NAC.
Day 2 of a Couch to 5K (C25K) program I started on Tuesday. Program calls for completing a combination of running/walking intervals on 3 non-consecutive days each week. The amount of time spent running increases and the amount of time spent walking decreases, each week.
Cool. Since you're just getting started, I hope you'll report back to us on how it's going and if you like the results.
K2
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-k2
What is vitamin K? Vitamin K was discovered in 1929 as an essential nutrient for blood coagulation, which is the scientific term for blood clotting.
The initial discovery was reported in a German scientific journal, where it was called “Koagulationsvitamin.” That’s where the K in vitamin K comes from (1).
It was also discovered by the dentist Weston Price, who traveled the world in the early 20th century, studying the relationship between diet and disease in different populations.
He found that the nonindustrial diets were high in an unidentified nutrient, which seemed to provide protection against tooth decay and chronic disease.
He referred to this mystery nutrient as activator X. It’s now believed to have been vitamin K2 .
May help prevent heart disease
May help improve bone health and lower your risk of osteoporosis
May improve dental health
May help fight cancer
Great info. Thank you.
