Prozac was the first SSRI on the market. I'd be curious to see some data on patients who were prescribed these vs suicidal ideation/behavior, homicidal ideation behavior, other forms of violent crime. I know there's a lot that has been made about school shooters, but I'm not sure this explains violence because overall, violent crime volume per capita is down since the cocaine epidemic of the 80s.
I think pointing the finger at one thing or another isn't productive, because there are a lot of reasons this is the case, from massively increased stress to racial/sexual/political/even hobby related tensions, to the constant mind breaking propaganda deliberately set loose on the population, to -- yes -- over medication of SSRIs.
We are at a point where we cannot point out crime and bring criminals to account, racial tensions and tensions between the sexes are at a high point, everyone is convinced they're right, no one is humble enough to admit they're wrong, their shortcomings, or at fault for anything.
We are perpetually propagandized to hate each other and every institution backs it.
We have black youths essentially told to give up and live on perpetual welfare and crime because they'll never have a chance and it's white people's fault, and it's creating a generation of criminals -- not just black -- that hate each other and hate everyone else.
Humans were not meant to endure this many attacks; being plugged into the internet or TV or near your phone does nothing but create a negative information addiction which leads you to places that do nothing but attack their fellow man.
It all creates mental illness and justification for attacking people you don't like, it is awful. There are so many other attacks on the collective human psyche every day beyond what I even mentioned.
It's clear that SSRIs have an effect, and possibly amplified the effects of other problems. But we can't just fix one problem and hope the rest falls into place, there are too many holes in this boat to not break out some Flex Seal and paddle to shore before it gives out. We have to be prepared to tackle it all at once.
My daughter takes her baby to a doctor that doesn't force vaccines. (She and another doctor left the practice and started new one. They don't take insurance. You pay X amt per year) On the last visit she told my daughter not to give Tylenol. She advised Genexa (Genexa Kids' Pain & Fever is a conventional over-the-counter drug made with the same effective active ingredient, acetaminophen, but without artificial fillers.)
Dr said Motrin was ok. I personally don't understand why Motrin is ok, it's made by pharma also.
I've switched to Genexa when herbs don't do the job and it works better for me.
This is a thread worth grabbing and studying, but it there's not a lot of proof that it does this.
I try to keep all medications to a minimum personally, so I would always recommend the same to others, but I would caution against panicking about that one.
If people panic too loudly about it, Pfizer will fund as many studies as needed to preempt any legitimate findings.
That was oddly specific. Wonder what he knows about prozac?

I can believe it. Everyone these days is on a fucking hair trigger.
Putting it lightly.

Damn. Seriously?
I occasionally take that as a last-resort anti-inflammatory, when all else fails.
I take turmeric curcumin every day--maybe I should take another when symptoms hit.

Probably at least as much as he knows about the circumstances of his uncle, father, and cousin's deaths.
