I'm about 4 hours in and I have learned how important the liver is and how it practically controls all organ function including the heart and brain. The liver uses 50% of your blood at all times, it's the most important organ in your body that detoxes you and stores vital nutrients for you when you need them.
If your liver fails, so will everything else...
REMOVE THESE FROM YOUR DIET: Diary (milk, cheese, etc.) Wheat, Grains & Gluten (bread, rice, grains, barley, oats, corn, beer, etc.) Sugar (Obviously) Soy Processed foods (if it comes in a box, DO NOT EAT) Bad Oils (Palm, Vegetable, etc.)
ADD MORE OF THESE TO YOUR DIET: Water Water Water (more WATER) Pasture Raised Organic Eggs Organic Veggies (Broccoli, Garlic, Carrots, Radishes, any) Organic Fruits (Strawberries, Apples, Blueberries any.) Organic Nuts & Seeds (Brazil, Walnut, Cashews, any.) Good Oils (Fish Oil, Omega 3 6 9)
SUPPLEMENTS Alpha Lipoic Acid (600-900 mg) German or Italian manufacturer only Selenium (200 mcg, this can be found in Brazil Nuts) Milk Thistle (2000 mg) Natural Vitamin C (Dr. Berg has a good one)
*If you don't have a gallbladder, try bovine ox bile. *Look into getting an allergy or food sensitivity blood test.
Removing Dairy, Wheat and Grains is so important as they are highly inflammatory foods that cause your liver to over-work itself. It's also important to remove Alcohol, if you're drinking beer or corn-based alcohol you're doing some serious damage to the liver.
Adding more fruits and vegetables is important, but it's also important to eat strictly organic only to avoid herbicides, pesticides, GMO and etc. Also short term fasting could help take the load off of the liver, drink plenty of clean/pure water (reverse osmosis) and do not drink tap water. Drink water, eat fruits and veggies in the morning and eat some grassfed meats, pasture raised eggs.. eat anything that is in its natural form is the best bet.
The great thing about the liver is, it regenerates. YOU CAN regenerate the liver. I highly recommend this docu-series, you can buy it on stopfattyliver.com but you can watch it for FREE using the links below (this isn't the full series, but hey it's free!):

I think stressing over all this will destroy the body before the liver.
Uh, no. Moderation in everything is key. Maybe if you’re actually sick this would be beneficial. I’ll keep my dairy, wheat and whiskey thank you.
I mean if you dont have liver damage symptoms. Go for it, in moderation. The liver is the most miraculous organ because it can regrow itself when you start taking care of it.
Some of these diets are too extreme.Ive seen ones with the above foods to avoid plus all nightshade veggies - tomato's potatoes peppers etc and all legumes and beans due to anti nutrients.Youve got hardly anything left to eat by the end of it.
Mediterranean diets have been studied to death and almost always show benefit
I firmly believe that the good Lord designed every ecosystem that can support us to have everything we need in it. This continent has plenty of animals, vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits that have beneficial properties, and we shouldn't have to import foreign foods just to stay healthy.
Of course we do have to unroll the damage that commercial chemical farming does and work out what natural small farms have and do, for example, we should be able to get sufficient iodine and other trace elements from our food, if it grows in or feeds on plants in healthy soil.
Edit: not to dump on a Mediterranean diet, but it's the lifestyle more than the exact diet. Less sedentary, less excess, less artificial things in the food... If they studied clean eaters here I would bet they would find all the health benefits as the Mediterranean studies. But that's not sexy, exotic, or money-making enough.
I'd rather have a bad liver than give up dairy.
Beware that selenium is found in many foods, and in taking a supplement you can end up with too much in your system - that can be a problem. I made that mistake and at a minimum, it has caused significant hair loss.
You should look into your "good oil" flaxseed. Its the only mainstream seed that contains higher levels of feminizing phytoestrogens than soy. I avoid it like the plague:

I take Milk Thistle but I take 300 mg/day, but 2000 mg?😲
There's a big difference in pasteurized vs real milk. And don't drink skim or 2%. A lot of the fat is beneficial.
"Whole cow’s milk averages about 88% water, 3.3% fat, 3.9% protein, 4.8% carbohydrate, and it contains small amounts of many other nutrients. Milk is an excellent source of protein, health-promoting omega-3 fatty acids, and many vitamins and minerals, including calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, selenium, vitamins A, D, and B12, and riboflavin.
According to the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, milk contributes to bone health, reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes, and lowered blood pressure.
Nearly all of the fat in milk consists of fatty acids—about 93.3% to be precise. The rest of milk’s total fat content is mostly glycerol, cholesterol, phosphate, and other hydroxyl-containing substances. The fatty acids can be saturated, monounsaturated, or polyunsaturated."
Pasture raised milk also has vitamin K2 from green grass. It also has higher concentration of omega3 fatty acids than conventional milk. Real raw milk has some vitamin C too. A few things Pasteurization kills many beneficial nutrients, such as Vitamin C, B, and beneficial enzymes.

im still doing the plant paradox thing and loving it... very much in alignment with this but goes into great detail about gut health to support detox and general health.
it includes avoiding some odd things like tomato skins and seeds, but that's actually a very traditional thing to do in many parts of the world. but yeah its a relatively complex diet. you get used to it though.
Never heard of plant paradox. Interesting on the tomatoes. How do you prepare them? I can eat tomatoes like an apple in summertime.
blanch to remove the skin, then cut the centers out, is how i think they do it. but i've never been the biggest fan of tomatoes, so its easy for me to mostly go without.
some products are made that way, but i'm trying to stick to the plan and its hard to be sure
Do the healthy keto, within 14 days you will have reduced your fatty liver by 50%.
How to tell if you have fatty liver: if you have a stomach that protrudes, even if you're skinny, you have a fatty liver.
What about fresh milled flour? The enriched flour that sits on the shelves is pumped full of ingredients we don't need. What about from the grain right to baking? Inositol is a vitamin that is extremely important and it's milled away with the bran and germ. Fresh milled flour fixed my gut issues I have had forever. Thanks for sharing links.
Not cashew
Peanut 🥜 bad for liver as well
