True... as would I. But, for every good thing the Internet provides, there is a bevy of bads. I just don't think our weak society was ready for such power or the darkness it can hold over one's soul. Internet addiction is real. Add porn and other vices, it becomes all-consuming for those who don't have the will or want to walk away.
my sister wisely said to me years ago "bill gates knew exactly what he was doing". People are not living anymore, just plugged in, all the time. Not to mention it is the easiest way to weaken a nation without bullets and tanks. Or else he is selling Starlink, which is excellent btw. I am old enough to remember life and happiness prior to the internet. It's a crutch and time gobbler.
You guys aren't wrong.. Though I would argue that society was asleep long before internet. The desperate clinging to trust in institutions and MSM we've seen the past few years comes predominately from my generation that bemoans the internet generations. And perhaps the decades long slow boil never goes into hyperspeed circa 2016 without internet. And that whole Q thing doesn't reach millions without it. Maybe internet is the best ally and worst enemy at the same time?
You're right, but the big deal here is that not only the internet would be shut down but No more power grid, no more hospitals, no more airports, etc. A Solar eruption would act like an EMP... everything would be destroyed. In short, it would be chaos.
And once again we all know NASA is using fear to control people.
This reminds me of something I have been thinking about of late. If/when TSHTF, and there is no internet: I remember the drop talking about archiving off line. Let's say the internet does go down abd at that point the people who have previously considered you to be The Guy Formerly Known As Crazy now come back and are looking to you for answers . So much is online, but there is also SO MUCH. To be honest, it is hard enough to know where to begin, but now you have lost your visuals.
So let's pretend you are putting together a flash drive. Something simple. What are 10 critical items you would want on that? (I realize things like video are going to take more space, but it would be good to have a mix, etc., but I think a variety of mediums is good.)
I have a few in mind, but I want to see what you all think...
We would also have much of our economic infrastructure become unusable overnight. It would not be a pleasant adjustment, and without long distance communication and computing, we would be permanently hampering our economic and technological development.
“Burn everything to the ground because some people can’t use it right” is not a good take.
Losing the internet for months would be the best thing to happen to society. People would become human again.
Underrated comment. I have said for years now, the internet is why society collapsed.
I'd surely miss this place!!

I have prayed that 10 days of darnkess would be this...
Losing MSM would be even better. Can we have both?
Agreed, although I hope it's not a total blackout... Diabetes is rough as it is, will have to buy a generator.
