Hard to imagine what that giant red shoe is doing on Mrs. Doubtfire's LR table. Doesn't really go with her attire. Or why an old lady from social services would be wearing red pumps. Maybe it's me.
I know, right? I try to watch movies with my mom that won't have explicit scenes or violence, and we picked this one a few months back. The red shoes stuck out like a sore thumb, as happens to me now often when I watch movies. It actually makes me very angry because it is almost impossible to enjoy anything anymore. All my 86 year old mom wants to do is watch an innocent movie, for cryin' out loud. When I do see that stuff in what are supposed to be "family friendly" movies I usually just keep my mouth shut.
I was thinking about this movie today again, and then I see this Twitter post. Such a weird coincidence.
Perhaps you were "guided" and now look at all the eyes on it due to "it." Aren't we all here chosen to do a job? Yeah yeah corny af I know... but I'm just a dude blessed to be (here) and appears to me you've accomplished your mish for the day- can't wait to see what tmro brings?
what's weird about this for me is the semi-based nature of the premise. A man with firm morals is divorced by his wife, loses his kids, and gives up even the dignity of being a man to be near them.
there's a subtle Men's Rights Advocacy to the plot is all I'm saying. Whether it's intentional or otherwise, it's there...
Also, ten years earlier, Williams was in The World According To Garp. Check out this plot summary:
T.S. Garp is the out-of-wedlock son of a feminist mother, Jenny Fields, who wanted a child but not a husband. A nurse during World War II, she encounters a dying ball turret gunner known only as Technical Sergeant Garp ("Garp" being all he is able to utter) who was severely brain damaged in combat, whose morbid priapism allows her to rape him and get impregnated. She names the resultant child after Garp.“
His mother observes his interest in sex and is intellectually curious about it, having little more than clinical interest herself. She interviews a prostitute and offers to hire her for Garp. Immediately after, Jenny decides to write a book on her observations of lust and human sexuality.“
Her book is a partial autobiography, called Sexual Suspect, and is an overnight sensation. Jenny becomes a feminist icon. She uses the proceeds from the book to fund a center at her home for troubled and abused women.”
Garp spends time visiting his mother and the people who live at her center, including transgender ex-football player Roberta Muldoon.“
Garp, dressed as a woman, is infiltrated into the memorial by Muldoon.”
John Lithgow was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role as Muldoon.
I've been thinking about the movie off an on for a while now, but I keep coming back the plot being something an MRA would write...you've got this guy, imperfect, but with firm morals, even if he's a little bit irresponsible, who loses his kids in a messy divorce, and in an effort to be near them, gives up any dignity he might have had left by dressing as a woman to be near them. He even acknowledges in the movie that he finds it to be "a pain in the padded ass."
i dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but it's something to think about, anyway...
Was McMartin a transvestite? Zoom in on the face so that the hair, earrings, and dress are cropped out. Looks mannish. Can McMartin be a Scottish name? Interesting that the character Mrs. Doubtfire was supposed to be Scottish.
I wondered what would make a guy like Robin Williams commit suicide. Maybe guilt over getting involved with this insanity? Did he really need to sell out to become a successful comedian and actor? He was very talented at impersonations and whatnot, so it doesn’t seem like he needed a cabal boost as badly as some of the mediocre people who became famous. Or maybe he was going to blow the whistle so they made it look like suicide.
Red Letter Media theorizes that Robin Williams based Mrs. Doubtfire off of Christine Hamilton, producer and host of Geritol Follies, a small Canadian community variety show (featuring elderly people) .
Red shoes too. See 2:24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BjuZI0G-2I

No, it is not you. That is insane that they would put that in a family oriented movie. I did not know this and appreciate you sharing it.
What about the movie with Tom Hanks, "The man with one red shoe"?

There are no coincidences ;)

I always thought it was an attempt to normalize cross dressing trannies.

He gets his make over from flamers rather than real women.

Totally weird. That whole thread is one big nightmare.
It does d show the ridiculous lengths some men have to go to see their kids
No one seems to hae noticed that it was a lousy movie.
THIS!!!!
One of the reasons given was that the testimonies were “led.” Meaning the questions were leading.
Does anybody have a good dig as to how this was not the case?
Wasn’t Assange part of some weird cult in Australia, not a part, more like victim, where these people had a bunch of blonde children living there?
I don't know anything about that but anymore, I don't dismiss anything out of hand.
Has James Woods ever commented on Hollywoods evil?
Yes.

Holy smokes! Wow. Thanks.
Guess Robin couldn't live with the guilt that's why he killed himself.
Williams was suicided he was found sitting on bedroom floor apparently he hung himself with a belt on the door ? doorknob ? No note !
So he was gonna talk.
Yes, word has it he couldn’t handle what he knew and was going off on rants ? They killed so many , so probably !
