We got the worst seats in the theatre only because the group in front of us was 7 people. The theatre is running 10 showings daily since it opened, and they are all almost completely sold out. Several groups that couldn't get seats together bought tickets for later showings. There are several theaters nearby that are showing multiple times daily. During the movie the crowd was so quit you could have heard a pin drop. Great movie, be sure to see it and tell your friends.

Mrs. Buttwipe must love you a lot to have taken her married name! ;)
Those are the seats we had but fortunately they had reclining seat with footrests. It was a bit of an odd angle on the screen, but we weren't going to let that delay the viewing of the movie.
I had angry tears watching it with my wife last night. We’re going to pull as many people as we can to watch it again
I don't know WTF but we went to a 6:40 showing on Friday night, July 7, three days after opening night...expected it to be jam-packed...there were 10, maybe a dozen souls in the cavernous theater. We had the entire fifth row to ourselves.
It could have been because it was close to dinner time on a Friday of a holiday weekend.
Yup that's what I thought too (except 7/7 wasn't a holiday weekend) til we walked out into a vacant lobby, no crowds then either
Could've been a fluke
When the holiday lands in the middle of the week it creates 2 holiday weekends.
The weekend that arrives three days after the holiday still gets to party with the holiday?
That's a rule too cool for school
No wonder they never taught it! :)
Speak with some business owners and they will explain the phenomenon. They can explain it in terms of staffing, sales, vacation days, etc.
I've owned and/or managed multiple businesses and it can be a nightmare.
How hard is it to take watching this movie? I know everything that is going on (well, what we all know at this point, I'm sure there is more). Would you say it is depressing? I'm trying to decide if I want to see it. I'm easily impacted by visuals. I am so on the fence. TIA
how to put this... It will have you crying and shook, but it doesn't depict gore or torture. You don't see the abuse but you are left with no doubt as the camera pans away what is about to/has happened. It's not over the top, its just enough to make the point. You need to see it, everyone needs to see it. You can do it, put on the armour of god and be brave.
My fiancée can’t stomach this stuff so she became a monthly donator to OUR instead.
I think people are over reacting when describing the visual impact and making people scared... I think your fiancée could handle it. It's not what you see so much as what's implied that turns on the waterworks. If you have an awareness of the issue of trafficking already, your stomach is already prepared so to speak.
They did an excellent job of telling you what happened without SHOWING it. Caviezel said in an interview that one of his requirements was not putting anything in the production that would turn on a pedophile.
I was told to take tissues, but I wasn't tempted to cry. It made me mad. And resolved. God's Children Are Not For Sale. God bless Angel Studios for making sure this made it to the public.
The movie doesn't linger on anything for very long. It's all things we know and does a good job of telling the story without traumatizing the audience.
Just watched it at a 2:30 pm show time.... guessing around 50 at that showing. This is a theater in the Boise area, and it has a showing starting every half hour, starting at noon.... G-d bless this theater!!
I don't say this enough to people like OP...but Thank You for going and supporting this movie! The political left is correct in one regard....representation matters. Showing up matters. I have no doubt that theaters are taking notice of sold out shows and having to add showtimes for SOF.
And this is happening in the second weekend? If so, that is VERY encouraging and could mean that even more people are coming out to see it as each week passes!
I believe it will gain more traction as time goes by. There was very little marketing for the movie, so word of mouth is going to be a snowball effect. Also, the "Pay It Forward" campaign will become more publicly known. People who can't afford to see the movie or are just on a tight budget have tickets available at no cost to them. I have seen that there have been over 3 million tickets purchased as gifts to others. The original goal was to have 2 million tickets purchased as "Pat It Foward" and this will only grow as more people see the movie.
People can buy tickets here as well as claim "Pay It Forward" tickets. https://www.angel.com/pay-it-forward/sound-of-freedom?utm_campaign=sound-of-freedom-theatrical&utm_medium=web&utm_source=tickets-footer-ad#
My local MJR Theater has gone from 5 showing daily on opening day on two screens to 12 daily on 3 screens. It has the most daily showings of anything there atm. Hard to know exactly but from casual observation when the wife and I saw it most people at the theater were there for SoF. The theater has 20 total screens.
